Numbers 23
Three main characters –
High Priest, two goats
Yeshua is all three . . .
“. . . we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Yeshua, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. (Heb 4:14)
And Christ came, High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. (Heb 9:11)
Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. (Heb 9:12)
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins. (Heb 10:4)
Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. (Heb 7:25)
Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, (Heb 8:1)
“And The Priest, who is anointed and consecrated to minister as priest in His Father’s stead, shall make atonement; and put on the linen clothes, the holy garments; (Lev 16:32)
Then (Joseph) bought fine linen, took (Yeshua) down, and wrapped Him in the linen. (Mark 15:46)
Cast lots – “Then Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for the LORD and the other lot for the scapegoat. (Lev 16:8)
Psalm 22:18 They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.
(Psa 22:18)
“Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, concerning all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a suitable man.
(Lev 16:21)
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2Cor 5:21)
And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. (Mark 1:12)
“The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness. (Lev 16:22)
`Where I am going, you cannot come,’ . . . (John 13:33)
“Then Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of meeting, shall take off the linen garments which he put on when he went into the Holy Place, and shall leave them there. (Lev 16:23)
And Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; (Luke 24:12)
“He is not here, but is risen! (Luke 24:6)
Messiah Yeshua, Who died, and furthermore is also risen, it is He Who is at the right hand of YHVH, it is He Who makes intercession for us. (Rom 8:34)
“For YHVH so loves the world, that He gave His uniquely begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to YHVH through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His resurrected life. (Rom 5:10)
He – Messiah Yeshua/Jesus the Christ – IS the Lamb, the Ram, the Red Heifer, The Preeminent Sheaf, the Two Goats and He is our High Priest – He IS Everything needed to bring us into relationship with our Father . . .
