Declaring War on God . . .

We received the following link this morning from a friend. It is an article from the Jerusalem Post. The founders of the group mentioned hit the nail of this Biblical truth squarely on the head. To stand against Israel and Jerusalem in specific is to literally poke your national finger in God’s eye. ( Zech 2:8 , which, by the way,  is endtime  language ) .

Things that make ya’ go ‘Hmmmmm . . .’

In the earlier post we mentioned the potential impact the extreme weather we seem to be suffering coast to coast may have on our economy and the connection, if any, this could have with our national actions concerning boycotts against Israel and being biased towards the Philistine Authority. ( Yes, I know, I said ‘philistine’ )

We just finished listening to a news story on the NBC 7:00 pm national broadcast concerning the serious impact this winter weather is having on our economy. They were throwing out real numbers of actual losses in the 10’s of billiions, and winter is not over yet.

Locally, we have seen the price of small-tank propane go from $ 2.19 per gallon in October 2013 to $ 3.99 today. That is almost a 100% increase.  K-1 Kerosene has gone from $ 3.89 to $ 4.49 per gallon – a 60 cent per gallon increase in less than 4 months. We received a report today of an expected price hike in fresh meats. And with the protracted drought in California and deep-freeze along the gulf, well,  I guess produce is not going to get any cheaper any time soon either.

And all this at a time when we as a nation are pushing Israel into a ‘peace’ agreement with the ‘Philistines’ at a cost no one should be asked to pay. Kerry has set a deadline for April, threatening boycotts of Israel’s export business which could conceivably decimate their economy. Oh yeah, when is that first ‘blood moon’ projected ? April ? We’re not saying what will happen. But the boycotts have already been enacted sporadically at, evidently, our prompting. It is not wise to plan action against the ‘apple of God’s eye’. Sticking our National Finger in God’s eye is not a smart thing to do.  I think I remember somewhere it speaking of Father God being a Jealous God . . . Vengeance is Mine, says the Lord . . . I will repay . . .   Hmmmmmm . . . . . . .

Aside

The article below is a reprint from Arutz Sheva News, Israel, Feb. 3, 2014.  It reminds me of the promise Father God made to and through Abraham . . . ‘I will bless them that bless you and will bring a curse on them that esteem you lightly, ignore or trifle with you’ . ( literal rendering Genesis 12:3)  If we as a nation are underwriting the forcing of Israel to give up their ‘God-given’ right to the Land, we can expect nothing less than God’s Hand against us. Anybody having any weird or severe weather ? I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact we are behind freezing Israel’s exports into the EU and other markets and, for all intents and purposes, drying up over a third of their national economy. What would happen if ‘something’ stifled a third of the US economy ? What impact is this deep freeze over a large portion of our country as well as the extended extreme drought of California having and going to have on our economy ?  . . . just thinkin’ outloud  . . . The bottom line ? Don’t mess with what God has set-part for Himself. He will deal with Israel, if they need dealing with. We need to pay attention to God’s Word. HE means what HE says. Pray as Abraham prayed . . . for the ’10 righteous in the town’ . . .  The days of praying for God to ‘bless America’ are past. Judgement has been determined for this nation and all who stand against God, His covenant, His Word and His promises. Pray for mercy and grace for those that are His. We must be like Nehemiah, who, when the time came, was able to stand and proclaim to the heavens, ‘Father God, remember me, for I did and said what You instructed. I Stood where You told me to stand . . .’  The Good News ?   He will bring His people through. Yeshua said ” I have overcome the world ”    Shalom –

1. Minister Says Kerry is a ‘Biased Intermediary’
Ari Yashar Minister Says Kerry is a 'Biased Intermediary'

Communications Minister Gilad Erdan harshly criticized US Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday, accusing Kerry of not being a fair intermediary in the peace talks with the Palestinian Authority (PA).

On Saturday in Munich, Kerry threatened Israel with international boycotts if it did not accept his “peace proposal” with the PA, saying that “for Israel there’s an increasing de-legitimization campaign that has been building up… there are talks of boycotts and other kinds of things. Are we all going to be better with all of that?”

Kerry’s comments were seen as all the more galling given previous reports that Kerry himself is orchestrating the European boycotts.

Erdan was speaking at Arutz Sheva’s eleventh annual Jerusalem Conference.

“Currently threats are still heard against citizens of Israel and they try to terrorize us. When we hear John Kerry and the American State Department, we think they are wrong in their analysis of what’s happening in the Middle East,” emphasized Erdan.

“It would be expected from someone who’s supposed to be a fair and objective intermediary to also tell the Palestinian side about the price they will have to pay over their stubborn refusal to recognize the right of the Jewish people to their own nation state,” remarked Erdan. “Where’s the Palestinian price on all the continued incitement against Israel‘s existence?”

This kind of balanced approach of warning both sides isn’t seen in Kerry, who constantly “puts the pressure on the prime minister and the government of Israel,” Erdan noted.

Erdan added that while the US is an “important friend and ally,” in this “harsh dispute” Israel doesn’t intend to submit to the US plan to have Israel withdraw to the 1949 Armistice lines and create an Arab capital in Jerusalem.

“Yes – we won’t divide the land of Israel; yes – we won’t divide Jerusalem, and our right to live in Shiloh and Beit El is no less than the right of the people of Israel to sit in Tel Aviv and Ramle and Haifa or any other place,” declared Erdan, referring to two ancient Jewish towns in the Samaria (Shomron) region.

‘Israel must stand firm’

In response to the American pressure, Erdan said Israel must stand firm, learning the lesson from the Oslo Accords and the “Disengagement” plan that expelled all Jews from Gaza and parts of northern Samaria.

“We can’t be afraid and we can’t be shocked by the modernism and trends that appear to be directing us to only one solution,” he declared, joining other right-wing politicians and academics in warning against the idea that the only alternative to a PA-ruled mini-state in Judea and Samaria was a “binational” or “one-state” solution which would end Jewish sovereignty in the land of Israel.

“We have to continue to strengthen the Jewish education and the Jewish values that have guarded the people of Israel in their land for thousands of years, and it’s important to do that while guarding the unity of the Jewish people,” stressed the communications minister.

Regarding Oslo, Erdan called the 1993 agreement an “historic mistake,” noting that at the time as a Bar Ilan University student he led protests against the process.

At the time, Erdan relates that the Israeli press “told us that peace was at the doorstep, which was apparently obvious, but the fact was that before our eyes was the involvement of (former PA Chairman Yasser) Arafat and his murderous gang of terror funding and incitement against Israel.”

Erdan’s comments are just the latest in a series of criticisms of the US Secretary of State’s attempts to force an agreement on Israel by senior Israeli government officials.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu labeled the boycott threats “immoral and unjust”.

He Means what He Says . . .

Purim & Passover 2014

If you haven’t already, please mark your calendars for these two upcoming events. Purim is coming up March 15th and Passover – Corban Pesach – is coming up April 15th. We will be giving more details concerning both in upcoming posts.

Some people ask  ” why Purim ? it’s not a commanded feast day.” And you know, their probably correct. So why do we celebrate this event ? To be candid, it helps us remember our new ‘national identity’. Once we are born again, we are part of God’s family, the group He calls ‘Israel’. So we celebrate certain ‘national holidays’ of our ‘new Homeland’ to aid us in our assimilation, if you will.

When a person begins the process of acquiring citizenship in the US, they must go through a lengthy ordeal of study and testing to finally complete the ‘naturalization process’. They are now as a natural, native-born. The Scriptures say once we enter the Kingdom at Passover we are as a ‘native-born’. We have become ‘naturalized’ and adopted in to Abba’s family and given the rights of the first-born. To help us adjust to this new-found family we celebrate some of their national holidays as we take hold of our new identity. Is it a commandment ?  No . . .  Is it sin if we don’t do it ?  No . . .  Is it sin if we do ?  No . . .  We are not ‘adding to or taking from’ Torah. We are simply taking hold of the heritage of the family into whom we have been adopted by ‘grace through faith’ . . .

Watch for more details on these two upcoming celebrations.  Shalom U’Vrachot – Peace & Blessings – J & R

On our way . . .

God passed judgement on those that would oppress His people as well as on the ‘gods’ of those oppressors. HE then began to lead His people to cross over from where they had been to where He wanted them to be. He provided for them deliverance through the Blood of The Lamb and faith exhibited by acting upon  His Word. HE delivers them from that which would hold them back, takes them through the Sea and resurrects them on the other side into a People that He would take as His ‘inheritance in the earth’. HE then gave them His instructions for their walk before Him and begins the process of taking them to their New Home . . . the Promised Land  . . . the Land promised to their father and ours, Abraham . . .and through this process ‘birthed’ an earthly expression of His eternal Kingdom . It’s Name is Israel. That which every born-again believer is a part of, grafted into, by the Blood of Messiah and the work on the cross. ( Eph. 2 )

Well, here we are again . . . We have come to the time when God is going to finish what He started. And what we are going to see, if we are not seeing it already, is that same pattern playing out in all it’s fullness. That which would oppress God’s people and come against His Word, His Covenant and His Plan is coming under judgement, the judgement promised from the Beginning. The Prophet Jeremiah speaks of a future event that will eclipse the Exodus to the degree that we will no longer speak of  that initial deliverance from Egypt and their trek to the Promised Land. We must understand the Exodus is the single greatest event in the history of Israel in the minds of most. So what could beat that ? How about the ingathering of all God’s children in the last days from all the place He has sown them and bringing them back under the Headship of the Messiah of Israel to the Land of Israel ? The two-edged sword, when wielded, executes both deliverance and judgement . . . deliverance for Abba’s family and judgement for those that would stand against Him, His ways, His will, His people, His land and His covenant. Joel 3:2 I will gather all the nations, And bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; And they have divided up My land.   Isaiah 24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, and broken the everlasting covenant.

So what does that bode for His people?  Just as the first time, Abba will bring His people through. Totally unscathed ? Probably not . . .  (‘But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;  persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed’😉 But He WILL bring us through . . .

So what do we do ? Stockpiling beans and bullets and water is not a bad idea. ‘Bug-out bags’ and escape routes ? Ok . . . But all the physical prep in the world is no good without a personal one-on-one relationship with Yahweh, GOD of the Universe through the Blood of His Son by the Power of His Spirit. Anything less than being born-again and born from above is futile and useless. To save your physical existence only to die and spend an eternity in Hell separated from all that is pure and good is just postponing the inevitable. GOD would that none would perish but ALL would come to repentance. For with the heart man believes which brings righteousness and with the mouth he confesses bringing salvation.

So we prepare Spiritually first, then physically, but what about the emotional prep ? And what about ALL the reports we receive of believers being under attack physically, spiritually, emotionally, their marriages, their health, their finances . . . Why ? This one thing we have come to understand. You cannot prepare for something without some exposure to what that ‘something’ might bring. How do we defend against certain diseases ? With a vaccine. What is a vaccine ? It is normally a weaker  version of the offending disease injected into the body, causing some discomfort, and teaching the body to contend with and eventually overcome the offending disease. God allows ‘things’ to come our way to teach us how to content with those things that would attempt to overwhelm and overcome us. But we are MORE than overcomers by the power of Him who loves us. Abba allows, and sometimes brings difficulty to prove our metal.

So, as the day approaches, we must set our face like flint to walk before Him according to His ways and dictates that we might be in the right place at the right time, listening to the right Voice, being the light and salt we have been called to be. It is for His glory. It will ultimately be for our good.

Shabbat Shalom to you and yours – J & R

Song of Ezekiel

Below is a link to a video presentation of ‘The Song of Ezekiel’, part of the anointed Praise & Worship CD ‘Your Great Name’ by Paul Wilbur Ministries. Please support his ministry by purchasing this powerfully Spirit-anointed tool of worship and praise to our Heavenly Father.

The prophecy of Ezekiel concerns the entire House of Israel. Has this taken place as of yet ? No . . . Is it in the process of coming together ? Most assuredly. And if you are a born-again blood-bought believer, it pertains to you. For by the Blood of Yeshua you have been made a part of the citizenship of Israel -the eternal Kingdom of God Almighty. ( Eph. 2:8-ff ) . The problem is we do not know who we are in Messiah . . . we are asleep, and the Shalom –

Servile Work ? What’s that, anyway ?

Leviticus 23 speaks of ‘servile work’ ( KJV ) as it lists things we should abstain from on Sabbath. ‘Servile’ ? What’s that mean ? The hebrew word there translates as ‘work, labor, to till . . .’  Ok, so what does that mean ? We find that sometimes a ‘word’ in one language or culture does not always have a corresponding ‘word’ in another language or culture. So, we attempt to come as close as we can. Well, they say a ‘picture is worth a thousand words’. Let’s see if we can ‘paint’ a picture ( with less than a 1,000 words ) to get the idea across.

When I was a kid, a really long time ago, I would sometimes go spend a few days on our grandparents’ farm in the spring or summer. PaPaw would come get us up really, really early, like 6:00 in the morning. Nothin’s up at 6:00 in the morning. He would have us get dressed and meet him in the barn. There we would feed the chickens, slop the hogs ( if you don’t know what slop is, don’t ask . . . you don’t want to know . . . we don’t eat the hogs but they have to be fed) throw hay for the cows that were going to be milked, give the horses a little hay and sweet feed . . .and this went on and on and on for hours it seemed like. Finally . . . the work would be done and we – the people – finally got to go back to the house and eat. MaMaw would have a big spread for breakfast . . . biscuits, gravy, eggs, meat, sorghum, sliced tomatoes if she had any, and coffee . . . MaMaw let me have coffee !!  Well, anyway . . .

So we’re sittin’ there at the table finally getting to eat after all that work, and then PaPaw declares, ‘hurry up and finish eatin’, we’ve got work to do . . .’ Before I thought, my mouth came open and something came out kinda like – ‘ Work, isn’t that what we just did PaPaw was work ? You mean there’s more work ?’ PaPaw said something profound that helps me today understand some of God’s Word.  “Work ?  that wasn’t work, son . . . those were chores . . . the work’s in the field’.

Keeping, observing and guarding the Sabbath is a privilege that we, as God’s children get to participate in. And it’s pretty simple. There are some basics mentioned in Scripture ( Exodus, Leviticus, Nehemiah, Luke, and others ) concerning Sabbath, and it’s pretty simple . . . don’t cook, don’t buy or sell, don’t ‘work’, don’t involve in business and yes, don’t light a fire . . . and that would be in the context of working and cooking. Abba doesn’t expect you to freeze, although He does expect you to prepare for the 7th day that is approaching ( wink,, wink, nod, nod ) .

The big deal for us was when we came to the point that we could call ‘His day a delight’ ( Isaiah 58 ) . . . that was the turning point. It then became a matter of the heart and not just ‘do’s and don’t ‘s .  Remember, Paul did say ‘first the physical then the spiritual’ ( 1 Cor 15). We have come to understand in Him and His sabbath, there are things that I have to deal with on friday, and things I have to concern myself with on sunday, but with the exception of the ‘chores’, I don’t have to deal with the things of the world today. Today is Shabbat. It’s the Lord’s day. Today is for me and my family and Him and His family . . . pure and simple . . . Yes, Sabbath is a day to share the love of Abba in Yeshua’s Name . . . to give a helping hand, and not turn a blind eye to a need . . . but His ways, and not mine. And yes, Sabbath IS the 7th day . . . always has been and always will be . . . ‘saturday’ you and I would call it . . . since we are still in exile . . . but by any other name it is still His day for His people . . .

Hebrews 4:9 There must still be, therefore, a seventh-day rest (sabbatismos – a sabbath-keeping)  reserved for God’s people,

Isaiah 58:13 “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the LORD’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
14 then you will find your joy in the LORD, and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.” The mouth of the LORD has spoken.
Isaiah 56:3 ” Let no foreigner who has bound himself to the LORD say, “The LORD will surely exclude me from his people.” And let not any eunuch complain, “I am only a dry tree.”
4 For this is what the LORD says: “To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, who choose what pleases me and hold fast to my covenant–
5 to them I will give within my temple and its walls a memorial and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will not be cut off.
6 And foreigners who bind themselves to the LORD to serve him, to love the name of the LORD, and to worship him, all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to my covenant–
7 these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
8 The Sovereign LORD declares– he who gathers the exiles of Israel: “I will gather still others to them besides those already gathered.”
Ephesians 2:8  For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
11 Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh . . .
12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Shabbat Shalom  –

Prodigal Ministries . . . Hebrew Roots / Messianic / Who are we ?

We are a diverse group of born-again, blood-bought, blood-washed believers from varying denominational and cultural backgrounds, brought together by the leading of the Holy Spirit of GOD to be discipled and to become “disciplers” in and of the full counsel of GOD, according to Yeshua’s (Jesus’) words in Matthew 5 and Matthew 28, among others.

Who we are and what our lifestyle should be in Messiah Yeshua (Jesus the Christ) is demonstrated in Paul’s admonitions in Ephesians 2, Romans 9 and 11, Galatians 3 and 5, and John’s writings in 1 John 2, 1 John 3, and 1 John 5, just to list a few. Understanding that we must view these passages and all Scripture from a biblical perspective and not necessarily from a denominational doctrinal standpoint. We teach and practice the Torah as a life-style change brought about by being ‘set apart’ by the blood of Messiah. We do not keep the instructions of our Heavenly Father in an effort to be saved, but rather we teach, guard and observe the commandments of GOD because we are saved. (Matt 5:18,19 ) Those ‘instructions’ extend into our daily lives and practices, giving us direction on our worship methods, days and seasons and even to what is proper for us to eat and what our Father considers food and what us unclean. ( Lev. 11 ) All of God’s creation is good, but not all things were created to be eaten. Pigs, shellfish, shrimp and other creatures were never intended by our Father to be eaten. They were created for a specific purpose, but not as food. If our faith does not direct our ‘lifestyle’ as it sets us apart and brings us into obedience to the Father’s Word, then is it, in fact, true ‘Faith’

We believe in the reality and necessity of the gifts of the Holy Spirit of GOD in these last days and that there is, always has been, and always will be ONLY One Way to the Father and that Way is through the shed Blood of the Son of GOD – Yeshua (Jesus) – brought about by the conviction and drawing of the Holy Spirit of God, acted upon by confession and repentance of sin, to be followed by willful submission to obedience to the Word of GOD.

The “Word of God”…It is living and sharper than a two-edged sword. It is Yeshua (Jesus) and HE is the Word…the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us and is to come again. He (the Word – Yeshua – Jesus) is the Torah of GOD. He is Genesis to Revelation, the teachings and instructions for life now, life abundant, and life eternal. He is the full Counsel of GOD for the people of GOD. A people that GOD calls Israel – a people we have been grafted into by the Blood of Messiah (Eph. 2:8-13, Rom. 11:17-26, Acts 7:37-38), undivided, from all walks of life, from all nations, tribes and tongues, to be joined together in the last days according to the Prophets…to abide forever with GOD the Father (YAHWEH) under the headship of His Son Yeshua (Jesus) in the New Jerusalem. THIS IS WHO WE ARE.
