Was it a Dream or a Vision? You be the Judge.
Hidden things . . .
Hidden things . . .
“It is the glory of God to conceal things, and the glory of kings to search
them out.” Proverbs 25:2
He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him. Daniel 2:22
Things hidden belong to Yahweh our God, but things revealed are ours and our children’s forever, so that we can put all the words of this Law into practice.’ Deuteronomy 29:28
As we take a look at the passages in Exodus 13:17 – 17:16, let’s examine one aspect of the account of the crossing of the Yam Suph ( Red or Reed Sea ) and the destruction of the Egyptian military. Now try to envision this in your mind’s eye – the entire Israeli horde ( more than a million strong and all their livestock ) situated on Nuwevi Beach on the Egyptian side of the Sea, the sea in front of them, the Egyptian army behind them and straight-up rock faces on both sides. Talk about being between a ‘rock and a hard place’ . . . no place to go but up . . . or so they thought. And then God says to Moses ( this is our amplified version ), “ what are you waiting for . . . go on.” I wonder if Moses was thinking ‘go on where ?’ Then Abba instructs him to stretch out his hand and the waters part revealing a path through the waters. You think Father God knew that path was there? All HE had to do was dry it out for them ? Obviously the answer is ‘Yes’. But let’s take a look at the name of the place.
The Scriptures tell us the name of the place before them was ‘Baal-Zephon’, ‘baal’ ( which is NOT a bad word ) meaning ‘lord or master’ and ‘zephon’ being translated ‘north’ or having to do with ‘winter’. Curiously, if you study out the word ‘zephon’ it comes from a root, according to the Strong’s, carrying the concept of ‘that which is hidden’. What was hidden ? According to archealogists today, there is a land bridge at the very spot of the crossing. At either side of that land bridge the depth of the water extends to over a mile, while at the place of the crossing the depth is 400 feet or less. I wonder Who put it there ? Who is the Lord of that which is hidden ? Hopefully we all know the answer to that question. According to the passages at the beginning of this little ditty, it is El Shaddai, Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
You notice He did not take His people through the land of the Philistines ( Gaza, Asdod, Ashkelon and Ekron – which is still the land of the philistines today ) because He knew there would be a fight, so He took them to a place where HE had everything prepared, ‘hidden in plain sight’ if you will, where HE would fight for them.
God fights for His people still today. Yet we have our part to play. Had the people not obeyed and walked not according to His directions, they would have wound up in the wrong place at the appointed time . . . not good . . .
Obedience has always been key. Even more so in the last days.
Malachi 4:4 “Remember the law of Moses My servant, even the statutes and ordinances which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel.
5 “Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD.
6 “And he will restore the hearts of the fathers ( Abraham, Isaac & Jacob ) to their children ( us ) , and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the land with a curse.”

Please continue to pray for the weather world wide, many are suffering, and don’t know where to turn, many have no hope. Please pray for those in the USA who are being hit by large very cold snow storms, an arctic vortex has slipped across the states only usually felt in Alaska. Temperatures are set to be -52 in one state, this is so cold that frostbite can take place within minutes. Please pray for the vulnerable, the elderly, those who have no home… this is treacherous weather, and we really care about the welfare of the people. Pray for the asthmatics and those who have weak chests.
Please also continue to pray for the flooding throughout the UK, the waves are higher than we have seen in many instances….Much is happening throughout the nations, and people are fearful, and in despair. Thank you so much for your hearts to pray, the nations need our prayers, when we cry out with one voice in accord with one another much can happen.
Many blessings Heather.
If you are suffering right now, with fear, concern, sickness, worry, if your home has been flooded, or your business, please let us pray for you, we want to hear from you…. blessings in Jesus
The year has started with unexpected things for many, some sick and ill, bad weather flooding and low temperatures, I have had so many emails from people who are stressed, and who need hope for the future.
We need your prayers more now than ever, I feel that there is more to come, I feel that something is about to happen, I cant explain what it is, except to say in my Spirit I feel a hightened attack against the nations to wear us down. But, we are the children of God the light of the word, born to stand in the midst of the darkest of nights and declare that there is hope, that there is freedom from fear, that there is an answer to the cry of the heart. I felt in the week to ask people to watch London, something big is on the horizon, that many are unaware of, that will become known soon.
The nations are reeling, and the Father is the only one who can bring us back from the brink, we must continue to cry out for those who need our help, to be a voice in the wilderness of their lives and situation.
Thank God for you as you dig in in prayer.
we bless you in Jesus name.

Righteous Judgement
Yesterday, during our worship time, at our gathering for Shabbat I heard the Lord speak these words to me…..
“My righteous judgements are blowing across the land”.
I find it interesting that out of all the songs we sang that day He chose to speak these words while we were worshiping to Kadosh (Holy) by Paul Wilbur. For He IS Holy and His judgements ARE executed in all righteousness.
We pray that a spirit of repentance will fall upon this nation and as His judgements come they will be tempered with His mercy….. Blessings, Rhonda
Christmas . . . or Truth in the Crosshairs Part 2
Christmas . . . or Truth . . . in the Crosshairs Part 3
Paganism Is Everywhere
Although the choice of terminology might not be the most accurate, that which is contrary to the nature of God IS everywhere ! We agree most wholeheartedly with that statement. It’s everywhere. In the schools, at work, at play, in the economy, even in the church. Nathan is correct concerning the modern-day accepted terms for names of the days of the week and some of the months on our Gregorian calendar and even a name on the jewish calendar. By the way, for some unknown reason we seem to hold the jewish people to some arbitrary ‘higher standard’. But yes, even they have a pagan name on their calendar. Our entire society, world wide, is up to it’s proverbial eyeballs in this mess. And why ? Because it was prophecied. Our forefathers ( Eph, 2: 11-13 ) because of their sin and idolatry ( which can include ‘pagan’ ) were exiled into the nations and forced to deal with ‘gods’, practices and customs contrary to the ways of Abba until such a time when He would bring their spiritual and physical progeny home. (If I belong to Christ, then I am Abraham’s offspring and therefore an heir to the covenants of promise. Galatians 3:29) Remember, our Father is not above making an example to prove His point. If you don’t think so, ask Uzziel, Nadab and Abihu or Korah, or how about Ananias & Sapphira.
The following is a quote from Nathan’s article. “Folks, we are living in very perilous times right now. The coming future is not going to be easy for the Christian who desires to be a part of the remnant. But what is the remnant? The answer could also be a long sermon, but in summary, the remnant is made up of people who keep the commandments of God.”
We could not agree more with this statement. Allow us to provide some clarification.Every born-again blood-bought believer keeps the Commandments of God to some degree, whether they realize it or not or intend to or not (because it is written on their hearts if they have truly been born again). The problem is we are taught to not keep them by our denominational dogma (we are no longer under the law) which is a direct violation of the words of Jesus.
Matt 5:18 “I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means pass from the Law until everything is accomplished.
19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of the commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches the commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
The above are Jesus’ words from the Sermon on the Mount. By the way, obedience is not a matter of salvation, but it is a matter of ‘standing in the kingdom’ according to Messiah. The ‘commands’ are the ‘Good Works’ spoken of by Jesus in Matt 5:16 and by Paul in Eph. 2:10, the keeping of which is the evidence of our love for our Heavenly Father and one another. 1 John 5:22 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
Faith which is evidenced by the things we do – the willful obedient submission to our loving Father because of His mercy and grace.
I think I remember James – Jesus’ brother – saying something about ‘faith and works’ . . . hummm, maybe he understood something we’ve missed ? Abraham’s faith was evidenced by his works according to James 2:21-ff . . . “ Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
Please understand that ‘salvation is by grace through faith’, period. The word ‘justified’ in the James passage also carries the concept of ‘that which evidences’ . . . the justification is evidenced by the ‘good works’, walked-out by the grateful believer. Faith is not just something we have, it is something we do, that which we ‘show’ on the outside because of what is on the inside, that ‘outward garment’ if you will . . . the original ‘outward sign of the inward change’ ( to quote my baptist upbringin’).
There is also another term used quite frequently in these discussions – ‘idolatry’. In simple terms, ‘idolatry’ is anything that comes between us and God; anything that breaks that ‘line of sight’ between us and Him and keeps us from coming ‘face to face’. An ‘idol’ can even come straight from the mouth of God; it all depends on what we do with what He gives. Example ? Take a look at the ‘snake on the pole’. It was a mandate straight from the mouth of God for the deliverance of the people. What did they do with it? They turned it into a shrine and started worshiping it. They took a word from the Mouth of God and turned it into an idolatrous practice. Are we capable of doing the same today ? Sure we are .
The article quotes the following passage and makes the statement ‘the celebration of christmas’ is not on the list.
“1 Corinthians 6:9,10
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
In reality, christmas is on the list, we just don’t recognize it for what it is.
Now, with all that said, where does it leave us ? We are saved by grace through faith. Are the ‘commandments a matter of salvation ? No, but they are a matter of obedience which is what we are called to after we are called to repentance. I am not born-again by works. I am born again by the Blood of the Lamb and faith in the Word of God.
Once I become a ‘child of the Father’, he has the right to expect a certain level of behavior just as I have the right to expect a certain level of behavior out of my children and also have the responsibility, as a Godly parent, to ensure they obey . He, God Almighty, has the right to set the guidelines for His children. I have a choice, either to be an obedient child or a disobedient one. Either way, I am still His child. But if I truly love Him, should I not desire to walk according to His guidelines ? Should I not be willing to love Him in the way He has asked me to evidence my love for Him ? It has taken a long time, and Abba has exhausted much patience, for us to come to the understanding that He is not interested in what we think or desire or believe unless it lines up with what HE has said and what He expects of us as His children.
One responsibility of this ministry is to expound the Truth of the Word, for in these last days, understanding and walking-out that Truth will make a difference for believers. . . possibly a life-or-death difference for some. And it must be coupled with a fullness of the presence of the Holy Spirit of God. ( the balance of the worship in Spirit & Truth )
Malachi 4:4Remember the law given by my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.
5 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.
6 And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers ( Abraham, Isaac & Jacob ) , lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.” ( parentheses & italics added for emphasis )
Isaiah 24:1 See, the LORD is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it; he will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants– 2 it will be the same for priest as for people, for master as for servant, for mistress as for maid, for seller as for buyer, for borrower as for lender, for debtor as for creditor.3 The earth will be completely laid waste and totally plundered. The LORD has spoken this word.4 The earth dries up and withers, the world languishes and withers, the exalted of the earth languish.5 The earth is defiled by its people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant.6 Therefore a curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt. Therefore earth’s inhabitants are burned up, and very few are left.
We love God’s people wherever we find them, even if we don’t always agree with one another. But we love God more, and must share the Truth, even if it’s hard to swallow, as we fight hard for the faith which has been once and for all entrusted to God’s holy people.
Blessings to you and yours as we sail head-on into the storm to come, for we know the Captain of the ship, and more importantly, He knows and cares for us.

Christmas . . . or Truth . . . in the Crosshairs . Part 1
Before we take a look at ‘faith and works’, we want to address the following portion of Nathan’s article and answer his question ‘pagan to whom ?’ . Also, please remember that there are many other christians outside what is referred to as the ‘Hebrew Roots/Messianic’ realm that observe Saturday worship or do not practice christmas and easter. This is not a phenomenon exclusive to the group mentioned in the article. We will not take anything out of it’s context and will eventually deal with each portion of the article. This will not be a ‘bashing’ and will not be an attack on Nathan. We do not support the bashing or personal attacks that Nathan has reported receiving. It will simply be an attempt to correct some misstatements and misapplications of the Word. Below is the portion of the article that we wish to address first.
The Annual Attack
I have noticed that every year around this time, I start seeing the bashing and attacks begin against those who celebrate Christmas with their families. I have witnessed that there are some who condemn those who are remembering and celebrating the birth of our Lord on this holiday.
Why is this?
“Well Nathan, it is because Christmas is a pagan holiday! I studied it. I can prove it, I watched the YouTube’s that showed me!.. It is very evil!”
My reply, … pagan to whom?…
And thus … It is as it is… in the eye of the beholder! In other words, I guess if someone is convinced that it is evil then that is their choice. We all have a conscience so let your’s guide you.
However, why is it that with this holiday, some of the enemies of Christmas become crusaders who enlist themselves in a campaign of condemnation to those with holiday cheer?
I have seen some of the arguments against Christmas. I have also seen that some of the anti-Christmas rhetoric generalize the holiday and likens those who acknowledge the day as participating in an abomination that has few equals.
To this I say, “Absurd!” end of this portion of article
First, let’s define some terms. ‘Pagan’ is a word that gets tossed around alot. What does it mean ?
‘Paganism, in the strictest sense, is a religion of beliefs and practices associated with the worship of nature. Paganism may take many forms, including but not limited to pantheism (belief that the whole of reality is divine), polytheism (belief in many gods), animism (belief that natural features of the world are invested with divine power) as well as Druidism, Witchcraft and Divination. Historically, the adherents of the three major monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) have applied the term pagan to the indigenous religions they encountered in the course of their expansion.’
© Encarta1993-2003 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
In other words, ‘pagan, by definition, is that which is contrary to the God of the Bible in existence and/or conception. It carries the connotation of being unclean or impure in it’s very essence, inception and/or conception ethically, ritually and religiously. ‘Pagan’ is the ‘way of the nations’, impure, in contrast to the ‘ways of God’ which are pure.
( we do not recognize the deity of the one worshiped by islam )
Ok, so how does all that apply to me and christmas ? Well, let’s take a closer look at what we call christmas and the origins of it’s practices and how it connects to the birth of Jesus. Much of this you will have already heard, hopefully some will be fresh enlightenment.
First, what does the Bible say about ‘clean and unclean, the holy and the profane ( pure and impure ) ?
Job asks the question “ . . .who can bring a clean thing out of the unclean ?”
And his answer ? “ . . . No one . . .’ Job 14:4
The book of Ezekiel is primarily end-time prophecy. Ezekiel 44:23 ( which is during the Millennial reign of Messiah-Jesus ) speaks of those that will be appointed to teach God’s people the difference between the ‘clean and the unclean’ and and to ‘discern between the holy and the profane’ (or the pure and the impure). . Why ? Because the previous leaders and teachers of His people ( Eze 22 ) had failed to teach His people these principles and were not only chastised but replaced.
So if ‘understanding the difference between ‘clean and unclean’ and ‘pure and impure’ was important in the time of Job and it will be important in the Kingdom, does it not follow suit that understanding and teaching this difference should also be important today ?
Once I understand that ‘christmas’ – the practices and many of the accepted traditions that surround the annual celebration of what we dub the birth of Jesus – are unclean and contrary to God in their inception ( all of which is very easy to verify with about 10 minutes at the local library or online ) then what should I, as a blood-washed blood-bought ‘walking in obedience’ believer, do with this truth ?
Well, what does the Word say ?
“ . . . learn not the ways of the nations . . .” Deut. 18:9, Jer. 10:2
“ . . . you shall not behave thus before the Lord . . .” Deut 12:4
“ . . . you shall not worship the Lord in this way . . .” Deut 12:31
Gal. 4:9 But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?10 You observe days and months and seasons and years! 11 I am afraid I may have labored over you in vain.
Please, let’s remember that Paul (in Gal.4:9) is not speaking to a group of folks brought up in the traditions of the Feasts of Lord, Sabbath, etc. These are folks ‘out of the nations’ desiring to go back into their former practices . . . the ways of the nations . . .
So, to answer the question ‘pagan to whom ?’ ( pagan is not our word, it was used in the article . . .)
Pagan to Whom ? According to the Word of The Living God, these things are Pagan to Him, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, The Lord of Heaven and Earth, past, present and future. If things and practices are contrary to His nature, should they not also be contrary to our nature as well ? Are we not to take on His nature ?
Jeremiah 10:1Hear the word of the LORD O house of Israel: 2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the nations, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the nations are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for they cut a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they need to be carried, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
6 Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O; LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
7 Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
Jeremiah was speaking to those of God’s people who were getting involved in the
‘ways of the nations’.
Paul was speaking to believers desiring to back into the ‘ways of the nations’ . . .
Seems things haven’t changed much. We still want to buddy up to stuff we have no business playing with.
2 Corinthians 5:17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
By the way, ‘beauty, not the Truth, is in the eye of the beholder’ . . .
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the Truth, and the life . . .”
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
And we pray for Nathan’s healing and for protection and provision for him and his family and for all the household of faith in these days

Legalism in Today’s Body of Christ –
Christmas in the Crosshairs
By Nathan Leal – December 27, 2013
Legalism is destroying the remnant church! I’m sorry that I have to say this but I believe that it is true.
Over the last few years, I have watched several theological trends gain traction in the lives of believers. One of the trends has to do with believers adding rules of the old law to their Christian walk.
There are many reasons that this is happening but in summary it has to do with a confusion of what holiness is over faith. The confusion goes even deeper where some are substituting an exterior of self-fortified walls based on law keeping and believe it to be an exhibition of inner sanctification.
These self-fortified walls are adorned with a devotion to amendments which harpoon Christianity and convert it into a religion of pious regulation and religious order.
Now folks, I am sure that what I’m about to say is going to offend some of those who are a part of this movement. But it must be stated because this trend is becoming a stranglehold for many people.
- Inner sanctification will never be accomplished by outer works, or by the outer abstaining of things which are benign.
- Inner sanctification will not be accomplished by the adorning of the outer garments of spirituality.
…or worship on “Saturday” instead of “Sunday.”
Nor will it be accomplished by whether or not a person celebrates…
… are you ready folks?
…whether or not a believer celebrates Christmas with their family.
Are You Still With Me?
I know that I just opened a can of worms but I felt the need to talk about this. Now ladies and gentlemen, please know that I have no ill will toward anyone but I really believe that I must visit this topic.
I know that it is dangerous ground and that some could argue against what I am going to say but please hear me out.
Folks, our faith has to do with our relationship with Jesus. It has to do with whether or not we have repented of the sins that were inside of us.
Our faith has to do with whether or not we have been born again into spiritual renewal. It has to do with our understanding of the power of the Blood of Jesus.
Our faith has to do with our devotion to worshiping Jesus every day of the week, to the born again believer, every day is the Sabbath. Why? Because Jesus IS the Sabbath!
The Sabbath is not a day in the week. The Sabbath is the immersion of us with Him, our Lord and Savior.
The Sabbath in the days of old was a SHADOW of what is available to us now in the present. The Lord’s Day is every day. This is a great mystery and seems to have a segment of today’s believer’s confused.
Again, I know that these words are challenging but is it possible that there is truth in them?
To this I say, “Absurd!”
Folks, if you choose to not celebrate the holiday is it because of conscience or do you really believe that it is an unpardonable sin?
In my humble opinion, celebrating CHRISTmas is not equal to eating babies or stealing candy from crippled kids!
But based on the hatred that I see towards it on the internet, it would seem that having a nativity in one’s house is an evil of high proportions!
I am amazed that while I can see our Lord in the holiday, others only see the pollution of paganism. Perhaps I need better spectacles.
Or perhaps Jesus will show me my error and if this is in my future, I will mend my ways and seal the breach against Christmas.
I don’t know. If it is possible that I just need to come around, then why won’t the anti-Christmas people offer prayers for me, or encouraging words seasoned with love and grace to challenge me? Because this is not what I encounter during this time of year. Instead, I encounter passionate diatribes that inform me of my failure.
The accusations are colorful…
“You are a child of Babylon!”
“If you have Christmas with your family, you are a fraud!”
You are blind…!
Again folks, if I am blind about this matter, then why do some throw hatred towards me instead of grace? I have a theory of why the encounters are hate-filled. More in a moment…
But as I have processed this whole matter about the movement of legalism in today’s end time church I have to wonder at the logic that is used to isolate Christmas as being “pagan” but ignore the bigger reality.
Paganism is Everywhere!
My friends did you know that the names for the days of the weeks and months in our modern day calendar are named after pagan gods? And every time that any of us reference the name to schedule our lives we are participating in paganism?
Every time folks! When we see the work schedule, the appointment is with pagan names!
…When you tell anyone a date for anything…the names are pagan!
…When you schedule the gathering for worship…again…it happens on a pagan day!Did you know this?
So as I have watched the purists out there talk about the evils of Christmas, I have to wonder, and say to myself…but…but…don’t they know that they are acknowledging pagan days every day of the week.
Does this mean that every day of the week an abomination?
Is saying, “I worship on Saturday,” really saying, “I worship on Saturn’s Day?”Because that’s what Saturday means and Saturn was a pagan diety.
Uh Oh, Now What?
Here’s another conundrum, how many times has an anti-Christmas advocate sent out a birthday card with a time and a date…
“Little Joey’s Birthday is this Thursday, January XX.”
Translation – “Little Joey’s Birthday is this Thor’s Day in the month of Janus..XX.”
Janus was the pagan god with two faces. So does this mean that little Joey’s Mommy is committing an abomination because she’s celebrating a party with Thor and Janus? Is Joey’s mommy pagan?
Folks, can you see how absurd that this is?
Again, how many of the anti-Christmas well meaning purists continue to schedule their lives and use the names on the calendar? I suspect it is all of them!
Here’s another disclosure, some of the months on today’s Jewish calendar are named after Babylonian false gods!
Tammuz was a Babylonian God, he was theson of Baal

Some may rebut that this does not mean we have to join Babylon. And this is true, we are not to be immersed in Babylon. But there is a distinction between living while in Babylon and worshiping the ways of Babylon.
Aside from our Christian walk there are cultural traits, mannerisms and celebrations that do not add or take away from the Christian faith.
1. A salute in the military.
2. A birthday party for the kids.
3. The celebration of country’s national independence. i.e – the Fourth of July.
4. Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc.
And this brings me back is my original point, how can anyone escape, when they hurl rocks at others about Christmas, when they themselves use the calendar to schedule their lives?
Folks, please think about this!
And thus, for me, Christmas is NOT about Santa, or elves or a tree,
…or pagan worship!
What Christmas is To Me
Christmas is about the celebration of the birth of our Lord.

In our house Christmas is also about family.
My friends, one of the most precious things that we have in this life is our families and our loved ones. For a mother and father to have a fruitful bounty of children and teach them about the birth of Christ is not evil!
For a family to engage in worship songs which are about the beautiful, magnificent and holy birth of Christ is not evil!
I have seen the accusations in social media, emails, forums and websites which condemn the tradition of Christmas and equate it with witchcraft and satanic paganism!
But ladies and gentlemen, to call the worship of our Lord, “paganism” is to navigate into an area of self-righteousness and dangerous judgment against the brethren.
Are you still with me? Or are you already writing the hate mail?
Folks, we are living in very perilous times right now. The coming future is not going to be easy for the Christian who desires to be a part of the remnant. But what is the remnant? The answer could also a long sermon, but in summary, the remnant is made up of people who keep the commandments of God.
Jesus summed up the commandments into the concise instructions of loving the Lord thy God with all our strength, soul and mind…in others words, everything in us, and to also love our neighbors as our self.
Loving your neighbor means that you have to love them even if they celebrate Christmas.
Loving your neighbor does not mean that during Christmas time, the stoning should begin!
For those who believe that celebrating Christmas places a believer’s salvation in jeopardy, I have to wonder why the outcry against it must be done with such venom?
Why the hate?
My friends, our faith is not determined by the outer garment. Our faith is determined by whether or not we allowed our heart to be torn and broken in repentance when we faced our sinful stains at the cross; iImmoral stains that have to do with what we read in the scriptures.
1 Corinthians 6:9,10
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
Brethren, I do not see the celebration of Christmas in this list.
By the way, if one desires to abstain from this holiday, God bless them. I will not condemn or judge. But why is the “grace” not returned?
Again, I am not sharing this article to create a firestorm, although there’s a chance it might. I am sharing this because right now all of us need to be examining the inside of our own hearts, not the hearts of others who do or do not celebrate Christmas.
For those who desire to throw stones during Christmas time, it makes me wonder what the motives are? Because throwing stones does not show love…
Folks, I have received the emails! I’ve read them..

If you happen to be against Christmas and you are reading this, I have nothing against you as far as your desire to abstain. It is your choice and I will not condemn you or throw rocks at you.
But why is it that many of those who are anti-Christmas cannot return the favor?
Why is it that many in this group must condemn through words that are laced with anger and a spirit of “old fashion meanness!”
You know folks, based on this trend, I have to wonder if in the end times, some of those that will betray the brethren unto death will be in these ranks?
Ouch!
Again, if you happen to be in this group but do not have the anger that I describe, I apologize, but why is that many of your colleagues seem to have so much anger?
My friends, the anger of one’s heart is the tale of the tape! Anger reveals that there are unresolved issues within. And it makes me wonder, does this show that there is a connection?
Is the disdain towards this holiday a sign that there is un-forgiveness towards family members…or ex family members?
Again Nathan…Ouch!
I know folks, but someone has to say it!
…And since I have one foot in the grave, it might as well be me!
We Tried It!
Several years ago, my wife and I decided that we were going to become anti-Christmas. So we got rid of all things Christmas in our house. And for several years, Christmas came and went.
The one thing that I noticed during those years was that I did not feel any different inside. I did not feel holier, or more joyful or more peaceful.
I did notice, however, that I felt sad and empty.
I also noticed that my flesh felt pious and self-righteous, almost like I was better than everybody else because they were being pagan and I was not.
After a few years of this, I noticed something else. I noticed that I had robbed my children of having holiday memories with their mother and father.
I was also guaranteeing that I would never again get to sing the beautiful carols about the birth of our Lord with my family.
…Those beautiful carols, there are many of them that bring a tear to the eye, and feed my soul with a rush of wholesome joy. For who can listen to the song, “O Holy Night” and not be moved?
Who can listen to the powerful words of “Oh Little Town of Bethlehem,” or “Away in a Manger” and not be blessed?
When I banned Christmas from my life several years ago, I was left empty.
There’s another thing about Christmas; it’s the chance to make good memories with your family and your children. It’s the chance to imprint a setting where your children gather together and talk about the birth of our Lord.
I recently announced that I have in autoimmune disease that may someday – “do me in.” With this in mind, I want to make as many memories as I can with my wife and my children. Making beautiful holiday memories is not pagan nor is it evil.
Sitting at a Christmas table and eating a turkey with my family is not pagan, it is a gift! Making beautiful memories is what we are all supposed to be doing right now.
So this is why I have decided to celebrate Christmas. I do not do it to make the world angry. I do not do it to give some ammunition and rocks to be thrown at me.
I do not do it to anger my Hebraic Roots and Messianic brethren out there.
I do it simply for one reason, because I love Jesus and I love my family.
For those of you who may be wrestling with this whole Christmas thing, please know that celebrating it or not celebrating it will not change the condition of your heart.
And making beautiful memories with your family is a privilege that will not always be available.
So my friends make the best of it, whether it is Christmas, Hanukkah or something else.

Brother Nathan – We have read your message on ‘Legalism’ and it troubles us in our Spirit greatly. Not because you might have caused some offense but because you have missed the point of Scripture and ‘pigeon-holed’ a lot of people with many of your statements. We support some of the comments you made and adamantly disagree with other statements based on the Word of the Living God. We cannot address all of this article at this time – it will take a day or two to pray and respond properly under the leadership of His Spirit. Allow it to suffice for now that we do pray for you – for healing, strength, provision – and all the watchmen – a group of which we are a part – and do not condemn folks for not walking according to the Word.
But there is much you have missed and misapplied in your article concerning ‘legalism’. By the way, do you understand the true definition of ‘legalism’ or ‘legalist’ ? It is one who walks and conducts themselves according to the recognized standard of conduct for the group to which they belong. As ‘Believers’ what is our recognized standard ? The Word – the full counsel of God . . .
not our denominational interpretation thereof. We are in our 60’s with many years in ministry with a strong baptist background and God has corrected us in many of these areas. Paganism and idolatry are not the same thing but both are abhorrent to our Father.
We love you brother and will share much more in the days to come. Remeber, Hebrews 4:9 states that even in light of all that Jesus has done, there still remains a ‘Sabbath-keeping’ for God’s people. Study in the words . . . for they do mean something . . .
Blessings to you and yours – Jerry & Rhonda
2 “How blessed is the man who does this, And the son of man who takes hold of it; Who keeps from profaning the sabbath, And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
3 Let not the foreigner who has joined himself to the LORD say, “The LORD will surely separate me from His people.” Neither let the eunuch say, “Behold, I am a dry tree.”
4 For thus says the LORD, “To the eunuchs who keep My sabbaths, And choose what pleases Me, And hold fast My covenant,
5 To them I will give in My house and within My walls a memorial, And a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name which will not be cut off.
6 “Also the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, To minister to Him, and to love the name of the LORD, To be His servants, every one who keeps from profaning the sabbath, And holds fast My covenant;
7 Even those I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.
12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.
19 Therefore, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household . . .)
Matthew 5:18 Truly I tell you ( Jesus speaking ), heaven and earth will pass away, but not the slightest stroke of a pen will pass from the Law until all has been accomplished.
Matthew 5:19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of the commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
The Sabbath is a portion of the commandments ( the 4th commandment ) that we are mandated to obey . . . willful submission to the ways of a loving Father . . .
To say that ‘the Sabbath is not a day’ is to ignore much of Scripture and much of what we are called to, both now and in the Kingdom to come as a set-apart people because of the Blood of Messiah . . .
Salvation by grace through faith . . . Christ, and Him crucified . . . then obedience . . . but to the Word from a saved people is our choice . . . we can choose to be obedient children or disobedient children . . . the choice is ours . . . but there are consequences to our choices.
In the next segment of our response we will talk about ‘faith’ and ‘works’ . . .
We love you in the Lord and pray for you and your family in these days.

Nathan’s response and P.S. to us
Have a Happy New Year.
our reply to Nathan
Shalom brother – I guess the first thing that comes to mind is the fact that nowhere in our response to you was ‘teaching you hebrew roots’ mentioned. The ‘information’ we shared is not just info and is not ‘hebrew roots’ but Scripture straight out of the book and in context.
Again . . .Blessings to you and yours – J & R end of our reply . . .
From the ‘Inside Out’ . . .
FROM THE INSIDE OUT . . .
As we approach this season dubbed the ‘birth of Jesus ( Yeshua ) ’ we want to take a few moments to look at Luke 1 and other passages from a little different perspective and as a segue into an understanding of a deeper truth. Allow us to establish up front that these and other writings of the Apostles are not in an effort to set a birthdate or birth celebration of the Messiah, but rather to establish the unavoidable fact that He is the promised Messiah spoken of by the Prophets, the ‘Seed of the Woman’ of Gen. 3:15, the ‘Son of Man’ with ‘all dominion’ of Daniel 7:13-14.
Have you ever been reading your Bible and then, all of sudden, BAM !!, you see something in the passage or a connection to another passage that you’ve never seen before ? Well, that’s what happened back in 2011. There is much more to this, but here is an overview and the ‘reader’s digest condensed version’ . There is more to come.
The Scriptures address the concept of that which is good coming from the ‘inside out’ rather than from the ‘outside in’.
“. . . For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks . . .”
Matt 12:34;
“ . . . From his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. . .”
John 7:38
“ . . . unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3-ff
When the Tabernacle was erected, the process began from the inside out. The first thing that was put into place was the heart of the Tabernacle – the ‘Tent of Meeting’ – and it’s heart is the Most Holy Place – the place of The Ark of the Covenant and Mercy Seat – the earthly throne of God Almighty. Afterward the rest of the Mishkan ( the Tabernacle – the place of the Shekinah ) was put into place from the inside outward. ( Exo. 40 )
There is also another concept we see in the Word – the requirement of the shedding of blood to seal a covenant. It was customary for the parents of the bride to obtain and keep the ‘wedding night bedding’ in case the virginity of the bride was ever called into question. The shedding of blood was recognized as validation of the consummation of even this most holy and intimate of covenants. ( Deut.22:13-19)
Even EVE came from the ‘inside out’ of Adam back in the beginning. So What does all this have in common with the account of the birthing of Messiah in Luke’s writings ?
As I was reading the passage in Luke about the then upcoming birth of Yeshua ( Jesus ), I was suddenly struck with an understanding of this passage that we had not seen or understand before. She, Mary, asks the Angel Gabriel how all this could come about – birthing a child – since she was a virgin and had never had intimate relations with any man. He begins to explain to her that this event would come about by a work of the Spirit of God from the ‘inside’ rather than from the ‘outside’ by the will of man . . . John makes reference to this concept in his Gospel rendering.
Without being to graphic, we understand that when a man and a virgin woman come together intimately, there is the ‘shedding of blood’ in the ‘ tearing of the veil of her flesh ( the hymen ) ’ . The ‘seed’ is from the ‘outside in’ by the ‘will of man’ and the covenant between the bride and bridegroom is sealed by the shedding of that blood.
Not the case with Mary and the conception of Yeshua . . . ‘for The Holy Spirit will come upon you and EL ELYON shall envelope you and this offspring shall be Holy . . .’ ( Luke 1:30-35 ) ‘ . . . and The Word became flesh and dwelt among us . . . the only begotten of the Father full of glory and grace’ . . . ( John 1:14 ff ) The ‘seed’ was planted from the ‘inside out’ by Abba. So where is the ‘blood’ that seals the covenant ? It was shed at Yeshua’s birth. When the ‘veil’ of His mother’s flesh was torn from the ‘inside out’ at His birth, it was the consummation of the promise that Abba made in the garden and it was sealed by the blood shed at the birthing. By the way, at any birth there is both blood and water present. Keep that in mind . . .
Hopefully we understand that when a man and woman ‘come together’ in an intimate relationship they have literally become ‘one flesh’. Also, if that intimate encounter culminates in pregnancy, the two have literally become ‘one flesh’ in the body, birth and life of the child. The child is ‘one flesh’, made up of the two, 100% mother, 100% Father, yet unique, one of a kind.
So it is with Yeshua. At His birth, he was 100% flesh ( His mother ) and 100% Spirit ( His Father ), unique and ‘one of a kind’. At His death – the ‘tearing of His flesh’ – not only was His bride ‘birthed’ ( blood & water – John 19:34) but it culminated in the birthing of ‘many children’. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name . . .” John 1:12
So let’s look at a bigger picture. Adam was put into a deep sleep and while he slept his side was opened up and out of that wound was ‘birthed’ his bride . . . from the inside out . . . When Yeshua (the second Adam) went to the cross, His side was opened up and out of that wound HIS bride was birthed . . . from the inside out with water and blood. . . . the tearing of the veil, which is HIS flesh . . . ( Heb 10:20 ) .
A ‘veil of flesh’ was torn at HIS birth and at HIS death . . . the first tearing was the consummation of the promise (in Gen. 3) The second tearing not only birthed the bride of the Second Adam ( Yeshua ) but also consummated that relationship. And THEN the veil of the temple was rent by Abba to display for the Bride that access to HIM had been secured through the blood of HIS Son. The ‘veil was torn coming in and torn again going out . . . all of this, ‘from the inside out’ .
So when we read the writings of the Apostles, let us remember part of their purpose. The point of the writers was not to establish a birth date or a birth celebration. Rather their writings would and should establish to all the prophesied lineage of the One born, the prophesied type of birth, and establish the fact that Messiah has come. HIS birth fulfills the promise and the prophecies and reminds us that anything our Father GOD does is always from the ‘Inside Out’ .
In Matt. 5:17 Yeshua declares that He has come to fulfill . . . ( Heb. 10:7, Psa 40:7 ) Remember, nowhere are we commanded to celebrate His birth, but we ARE commanded to remember His death until He comes again and we know the month, day and hour of His death . . . not so with His birth. ( 1 Cor. 11:24-26 )
“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.” Romans 5:10
“ . . . I was sent only for the lost sheep of the House of Israel . . .” Matt. 15:24
