PASSOVER 2018

PASSOVER 2018
The projected date for our Passover Gathering is the evening of April 28th, 2018, making April 29th the First Day of Unleavened Bread and a High Sabbath.

The meeting will begin PROMPTLY at 6:00 pm EST with music and Scripture, and the Passover Potluck fellowship meal to follow around 7:00pm. There will also be a time of Q&A concerning Passover and how it does and should apply to believers in Yeshua/Jesus, especially in these last days. The entire evening’s events should be concluded by 9:00 pm or so, unless our Father has other plans. Doors will open at 5:00pm.

Matzah, water and coffee will be provided. We ask each family unit to bring a main dish/entrée and either a side dish or dessert, or both if you so desire. The dishes must be ‘Biblically clean’ and ‘unleavened’. If you have any questions concerning either of those, please contact us here or by email or text. (prodigal_101@yahoo.com 859.582.5525)

Why do we observe Passover? In his writings, the Apostle Paul instructed the congregation of believers to ‘keep the feast’, referring to The Passover. The writer of Hebrews reminds the congregation of believers to ‘not forsake the assembling together, which had become the habit of some’. Passover is the first of the annual, Holy Day assemblies. But beyond those exhortations, Yeshua/Jesus had this to say concerning The Passover – ‘do this in remembrance of Me.’

Although donations to help cover the expenses of the meeting are appreciated, there is no charge or fee for attending and participating in this Bibically-mandated Holy Day event.

The location for the event will be the Community Ballroom above the BlueBird Cafe in downtown Stanford KY. If you plan to attend and have NOT sent your RSVP, please do so ASAP. We need to be able to provide adequate seating and space for this event, and your response enables us to make those plans more efficiently.

The theme for the evening? Passover – What’s The Word Say?

WTWS Around the Kitchen Table with Bill Cloud

This round-table discussion with our good friend and brother, Bill Cloud of Shoreshim Ministries- , sprang from this one question we posed to him – ‘If you had one opportunity to say one thing to the people, what would it be?’ Take a moment and give a listen. . . . Shalom

‘these three remain . . .’

“Give thanks to our Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. 15 And He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created,  in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities– all things have been created by Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the first-born from the dead; so that He Himself might come to have first place in everything. 19 For in Him it did please all the fullness to dwell, 20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself,  having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven. 21 And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind in evil deeds, 22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach . . .”  (Colossians 1:12-22)

“Therefore if any is in Messiah, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 18 Now all things are from YHVH, who reconciled us to Himself through Messiah, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 namely, that YHVH was in Messiah reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Messiah, as though YHVH were entreating through us; therefore we implore you on behalf of Messiah, be reconciled to YHVH. 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of YHVH in Him (Messiah). “ (2 Corinthians 5:17-21)

“But YHVH did demonstrate His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Messiah died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath through Him. 10 For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to YHVH through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only this, but we also rejoice in YHVH through our Lord Messiah Yeshua, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”  (Romans 5:8-11)

In those passages, and in these words – reconciliation, redemption, new creation, justified, presentable – we see fulfillment of the first four feasts of YHVH – The Passover, Unleavened Bread, The Wave Offering (Resurrection Day) and Shavuot (Pentecost,The Presentation).

As we look towards the season of The Passover (The Shelem – The Peace/Reconciliation Offering) may our thoughts not be just on what happened in the days of Moses, but rather, on the time when He brought each one out from where we were, and, more importantly, that we have been made a part of His Kingdom, the sovereignty and priesthood of Melchizedek – now and forever more.

For He is not the God of the dead, but of the living . . .

May our focus not be on what happened in Egypt, but rather, on the days of the New Jerusalem.

For the day comes when we will no more tell of how He brought us out of Egypt, but rather, how He brought us out from all the places we were and brought us home eternally.

And until that day, we needs be about our Father’s business, the work that is proclaimed in the opening passages of this writing.

Paul, in his writings, makes mention of ‘three things that remain’.

We submit, as we prepare and celebrate and keep vigil during this upcoming Passover season, these three things must remain, be paramount and primary . . .

The Lamb . . . The Unleavened Bread . . . The Blood . . .

‘Behold the Lamb of YHVH . . .’

‘This is My Body, broken for you . . .’

‘This cup is My Blood, the renewal of the covenant,

poured out for many for the remission of sin . . .

‘Do THIS in remembrance of Me . . .’

And remember our Father’s Words – ‘This is My Son . . . hear Him . . .’
