May we pose a question ?

Usually we use this platform to teach or announce or update and that is the ultimate goal of this post but we are going about in a different manner.

Allow us to pose a question . . . and with that we hope for responses . . . It is actually a question that was posed by another individual on a media forum. Here is the ‘question’ . .

How about a radical idea ? What about the concept of a one-new-man worship community lead by a ‘believing ‘ pastor and a ‘non-believing’  jewish teacher. ( believing and non-believing in reference to accepting the fact of Yeshua / Jesus of Nazareth as the promised Messiah ) . I mean, we all worship the same God, right, so wouldn’t it work ?  Yes or NO . . . and why or why not . . .

Now, please understand this is NOT an anti-semitic attack. We love the jewish people and the people of Israel and the Land of Israel and understand and teach the premise of blessing Israel and supporting Israel. So whaddaya think ?

Now before you react, please pray, ponder, look at the Word and then respond . . .
And we will be ‘taking this somewhere’ . . . Blessings – J

Prophecy unfolding ?

Since the outbreak of the ‘arab spring’ early last year Rhonda and I have contemplated the connection between events in Egypt and the prophecies in Isaiah 19 . . .

Isaiah 19:1 The burden against Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.
2 “I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; Everyone will fight against his brother, And everyone against his neighbor, City against city, kingdom against kingdom.
3 The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and the sorcerers.
4 And the Egyptians I will give Into the hand of a cruel master, And a fierce king will rule over them,” Says the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

There are confirmed news reports of torture and even crucifixions taking place by the muslim brotherhood towards other egyptians in general and arab christians in specific.  “. . . And the Egyptians I will give Into the hand of a cruel master, And a fierce king will rule over them,” Says the Lord, the LORD of hosts.”

Quran Sura 5:33
[5.33] The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement,

This is the ‘moral compass’ for the fundamentalist muslim today.  Notice I did NOT say ‘radical’. Though it may seem radical to those in the west, this is mainline mainstream fundamental islam at it’ s best.

Mubarak kept the muslim brotherhood and other fundamentalist muslim groups in check until his ousting last year.. Now the muslim brotherhood has unbridled control in Egypt and the recent tortures and crucifixions are a good example of the new ‘freedom and democracy’ that has been ushered in.

Are we in the last days ? YES  . . . are ancient prophecies being fulfilled right in front of our eyes ? sure they are . . . Are believers ‘out of here’ before anything bad happens ? Don’t count on it . . . but one thing you CAN count on . . . the faithfulness of our Father through the blood of Yeshua and the power of His Holy Spirit . . . these are the best of times and the worst of times . . . and be of good cheer, for HE has overcome the world . . . Are you ready for what’s comin’  ?  ‘Preparation’ needs to be spiritual, physical and emotional.  Noah was directed to build the boat. But always remember – Abba floated it . . .
Live this day like it is your last and plan as if you will be here for a 100 years . . . it might even be 1,000.
And believers WILL have work to do in the Millennium . . . stir up the gifts and talents that GOD as given you. They are not just for you. They are for HIS purpose in HIS kingdom.  Blessings –

More from the Woman at the Well . . .

Here is an addendum to “The Woman At the Well”……Blessings and Shalom to all, Rhonda and Jerry

THE OIL AND THE WINE and TWO DONKEYS

Revelation 6:6 and Hosea 2:14-23 are inexplicably linked . Rev. 6:6 commands… ‘not to harm the oil and the wine’.  Why ?…. it is a Promise in Hosea 2:21-22 that the Lord will give back the vineyards and  they will be restored.
Hosea 2:14-15 states that HE is going to ‘woo us and take us into the wilderness (desert ) and speak tenderly to us and there give us back our vineyards. And when does this happen ? In the time of ‘Jacob’s Trouble’ or what we call the ‘tribulation’, as stated in the remainder of verse 15 – “ . . . and will make the valley of Achor ( tribulation ) a door of hope . . . and she will sing as in the days of her youth, as in the days she came out of Egypt . . .” , a reference to the first Exodus.   This takes place during the tribulation – the time of Jacob’s trouble –  which is taking place towards the end of the ‘2nd day’ of Hosea 6:2.  At the ending of this ‘2nd day’ the Lord says “don’t harm the oil and the wine” . At the beginning of the 3rd day (millennial kingdom) “HE will raise us up” and HE will restore the grain, the oil and the wine (Hosea 2:21-23) and “we will live in HIS sight”.
Hosea 3:5 tell us the ‘Israelites’ ( the northern kingdom – Ephraim ) will come trembling to the LORD and to His blessings in the last days. Yeshua said “ I am sent only for the lost sheep of the House of Israel.”  Ephesians 2:11-13 clarifies that those who were formerly of the ‘nations’ have been brought near by the Blood of Messiah and are no longer foreigners and strangers but fellow citizens with God’s people. So whether we have the blood of one of the 12 Tribes running through our veins, or are simply ‘gentile’, we have been made part of the Household of God – The Whole House of Israel . . . ‘I am sent only for the  . . . House of Israel . . .’ and we are expected to keep HIS ways , just like the picture we see, and is laid down, in 2 Kings 17 . The five pagan nations listed here, coming into the Land or the ‘kingdom’ if you will, were expected to keep the Father’s commandments, even though they were  a ‘wild branch’ being put into or grafted into the ‘kingdom’ which was a shadow of what was to come ( Romans 11:17, Acts 15:13-21) .
Therefore, through and because of the ‘blood of Messiah’, those of the nations that believe are brought into the House of Israel ( Eph. 2: 11-13 ) and they ( we ) come in as part of the ‘re-gathering’ of Ephraim ( along with Judah – Ezekiel 37 )
What do we mean by ‘re-gathering’ ? Here’s a picture that we’ve not seen before. There are two donkeys in Matthew 21:1-5 and Zech 9:9. Yes, two donkeys ! (A side note here: this revelation was given to my husband (Jerry) several years back by the Ruach or Holy Spirit.)
On the day that tradition has come to call ‘palm sunday’, Yeshua ( Jesus ) comes riding into town with two donkeys – an older male and a younger male . . . the wording is quite clear in the Hebrew in Zechariah 9:9.  So, what’s that mean ?
Judah is the older brother and Ephraim ( the house of Joseph ) is the younger. We see the same symbolism in the account of the ‘prodigal son’. The ‘prodigal’ is the younger brother and Judah is the older.
So back to the two donkeys. I picture Yeshua riding the older one and leading the younger. That would line up with the Biblical tenet that Judah always goes first and leads  ( Numbers 2:9, Judges 20:18 ).
The Prophets Jeremiah ( chp. 2 ) & Hosea ( chp. 8 )  speak of the people of God as donkeys . . . and it is not a compliment. Deuteronomy 9:6 and Acts 7:51 ( and other passages ) tell us that Israel is a stiff-necked people. That includes me and you as well.
Exodus 13:13 and 34:20, seemingly out of context, speak of ‘redeeming donkeys’ in the same passage with ‘redeeming the first born of your sons . . . so what’s up with that ?
There is a play on words here that we miss without a closer look.
The word ‘ARAPH’ – to break or ‘slope’ the ‘NECK’ ( OREPH ) is a picture of our unwillingness to humble ourselves due to our basic sinful nature . . . pride.
Therefore we must be ‘redeemed by a LAMB’. And if there is no redemption, then we ultimately die.
But, when we willingly accept the work of Messiah on the cross ( the redemptive LAMB of our FATHER ) we willingly humble ourselves before HIM ( we ‘slope the neck’ and bow the head and heart ) and we need not fear the second death ( Rev 2:11, 20:6 ) .
So what do we have in this ‘triumphal entry into Jerusalem’, understanding that Yeshua does nothing without meaning ? We have a picture of the beginning of the fulfillment of the restoration of the Whole House of Israel with Messiah – the Passover Lamb, the Shelem, the peace offering making reconciliation – leading the way and bringing His people back home.
“ . . .For I am sent only for the lost sheep of the House of Israel . . .” Matthew 15:24

Yom Teruah – The Day of the Blast

The evening of Monday Sept 17 marks the beginning of Yom Teruah or the Feast of Trumpets.  We will gather together ( the ‘called assembly’ ) that monday evening @ 7:00 pm  for a time of fellowship, Scripture reading and discussion, snacks and of course, the ‘blowing’ . . .understanding and reiterating that the ‘blowing of the trumpet’ is to call the assembly, to awaken the people, to sound the warning and to make an announcement . . .

What ‘announcement’ ?  Could it be that this marks the beginning of the ‘season of our Joy’ ?

Joy ?   The ‘Joy” that comes with the return of the Promised Messiah.

Each year is a ‘rehearsal’ of the ‘final act’ of His imminent return.

And where there is ‘rehearsal’ , there is an ‘opening night’, the culmination of all the rehearsals.

The Feast of Trumpets is the ‘raising of the curtain’ for the playing-out of the final act.

Thursday evening Sept 27 concludes the Day of Atonement – Yom Kippur . . we will meet that evening at 7:00 pm to break the fast together as a family in the presence of Abba . . . more details later . .   Blessings

UPCOMING HOLIDAYS . . .

Feast of Trumpets ( Yom Teruah, or ‘Rosh HaShanah’ as it is called on the Jewish calendar ) will be Sept. 18 and begins the evening before. More accurately – Yom Teruah or the Day of the Blast – marks many things, not the least of which is the beginning of the season of the fall feasts of the LORD and also marks the beginning of the season of the return of Messiah. We will call an assembly on the evening of the 17th for the celebration of this holiday. ( Lev 23:23-25, Num 29:1-6)

September 26th ( also beginning the evening before ) is Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement. The Scriptures imply a fast on this day ( the 10th day of the 7th month . . .Lev 23:26-32; Num 29:7-11 ) and will run from sundown on the 25th through sundown on the 26th. We will, as has become our custom, break the fast together as a congregational family on the evening of the 26th for those that would like to attend. .  . . . more info later . . .

13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.
14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.  1 Thess 4:13-18

51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.  1 Cor. 15:51-52

Isaiah 57:14 – 58:14
Matthew 24:25 – 35

That’s ‘One Way’ to look at it . . .

‘Worry is like a rocking chair . . . it gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere . . .’

Phil 4:6-8  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything – by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving – let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus ( Messiah Yeshua )
8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.

What’s in your wallet . . .

I saw this today as I was leafing through a book  . . . don’t remember the name of the book ( sorry ) but this caught my eye . . . and my heart . . .

“The sign of a true Dad . . . there are now pictures & crayon-scribbled notes in his wallet where the money used to be . . .”

Does Abba have any notes from you in His wallet . . .?

Believe it or not . . . He says what He says . . .

There is a youtube video and transcript that is spreading like wildfire dealing with the ‘truth’ concerning homosexuality and the teachings of the Bible on the matter.

I have read the transcript and I must say it is intriguing and engaging, and for those that might not be well grounded in the Word, it will be either confusing or misleading.

IF  you didn’t know any better, you would believe the young man’s conclusion that the Bible does NOT teach against homosexuality. The problem is, he is mistaken.

One of the sad aspects of this whole story is this young man spent ( wasted ) two years of his life trying to justify through human logic what the Scriptures teach plainly and succinctly to be unjustifiable and a sin . . . perhaps no more or less than any other ‘sin’, but yet, still ‘sin’.

His misuse and misapplication of Scripture causes the foundational support of his premise to be flawed and thereby his premise to be incorrect. He employs what I call a ‘buffet approach’ to the Word . . . taking helpings of those things that he ‘likes’ and leaving behind those things that doesn’t appeal to the ‘taste buds’ . . . you can do that with broccoli and asparagus, but NOT with the Scriptures.

I find it sadly curious that this young man was attending a United Methodist college. I do not know for sure what ‘church’ allowed him to put forth his treatise, but if I understand Scripture correctly, the pastor of that congregation will have the ‘blood of the people’ on his head.  Pray for him and for this young man.  So why did I mention the Methodist college ?

You know, the Bible warns against taking a stance against Israel. Our Father God  stated that HE would bless those who bless Israel and that HE would bring a curse ( arar – to curse ) on those that curse         ( qalal – to slight, esteem lightly or treat with contempt ) the nation of Israel.

Below are archived articles and statements from the United Methodist Church hierarchy dating back to 2000 concerning the nation of Israel.

1.) Resolution 6074, “United Nations Resolutions on the Israel-Palestine Conflict.”,  was adopted by General Conference ( the UMC denomination’s highest policy-making body )  in 2000, then revised and readopted in 2008. It states, “The United Methodist Church calls upon Israel, the Palestinian National Authority, and all States to abide by and uphold U.N. resolutions, International Court of Justice rulings, and international law as the basis for just and lasting peace in Palestine/Israel.”

. . . the position of the ( UMC ) church is “clear:”

The denomination affirms the will of the international community, expressed through U.N. Security Council resolutions, the Fourth Geneva Convention and other international law instruments, in condemning the Israeli military occupation of Palestinian territory. The denomination opposes continued Israeli settlement building on occupied Palestinian territory. The church stands with the Palestinian Christian community, and supports Palestinian efforts towards economic and political self-determination.

2.) Rev. Sprecher, who led the social action agency petition at the 2004 UMC General Conference, recommended divestment from Caterpillar Inc. and charged that the company “profited from illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian land and contributes to the occupation by supplying the Israel Defense Forces with heavy equipment.”   Bloom’s article further cites Rev. Sprecher’s reminder of the Resolution 312 that the UMC passed in 2004 “opposing Israeli settlements in Palestinian land.”

3.) The UMC’s General Board on Global Mission Women produced a Mission Study for 2007-2008, endorsed by the national ( UMC ) church, which refers to Israel’s creation as “original sin,” and likens the birth of Israel to the Holocaust and Israeli practices to those of the Nazis.

And now the UMC is struggling ( whether they know it or not ) with homosexuality both in the pews and in the pulpit . . . gee, I wonder if there is a connection between standing against Israel and believing that which is false  . . . for he who touches Israel touches the apple of God’s eye . . . and HE will cause you great distress because of ‘sticking you finger in HIS eye’  . . . Zech 2:8

Of course, that’s if you actually believe what the Word says . . . do you ?

SUKKOT – THE SEASON OF OUR JOY

SUKKOT – The Feast of Tabernacles – is quickly approaching and it’s time to start getting ready. The dates are monday evening October 1 through tuesday evening October 9. Tentative plans are that we will gather once again at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Harrodsburg, KY.  We will announce planning sessions to facilitate a good smooth time together.

You know, the Feast of Tabernacles is the first holiday that we will celebrate together in the Kingdom after the return of Messiah ( Zech 14 ) , and yet, most us have had little to no teaching and training for this the culmination and pinnacle of the pattern of the Gospel.  This will be the 10th year of Sukkot for Rhonda and I and our family and we seem to look foward to it more and more each year. Yes, sometimes it has been difficult and cold and wet and rainy . . . and cold and wet and rainy . . . ( yes, I know I repeated myself – ’cause it was cold and wet and rainy more than once )  . . . but when we get to the end of the week, we don’t want to leave . . . the time will come when we won’t have to . . . Praise the Lord . . . but until then may we be diligent to show our love for Abba in the ways He has asked ( 1 John 5:2 ) because of what He has done for us.

Sorry we haven’t posted in a while . . . we will strive to stay more in touch . . .

Blessings to you and yours  . . . especially as the ‘day’ approaches . . .

B’shem Yeshua – J & R
