Christmas . . . or Truth . . . in the Crosshairs . . .

The following will be lengthy and to ‘get it all’ you’re gonna have to read it to the end . . . The first part is an article published by Nathan Leal of Watchman’s Cry, a site that we follow and listen to regularly. Afterwards is the email correspondence between us and Nathan concerning the article. We posted it all in it’s entirety to be sure and not misquote or leave out or impact the context. As you read, you will understand there will be more installments to come as we address some of the statements in the article. There are statements in Nathan’s article that we wholeheartedly agree withbased on the Word. There are others in the article that need to be addressed based on Scripture. Please, this should not in any way be perceived as a personal attack on Nathan or ‘bashing’ of anyone. Even if there is a difference in understanding or stance, this is not to impugn personal character or relationship with our Father. We should all pray for one another for wisdom, insight, discernment in these days . . . ears to hear and eyes to see . . . Shalom

Watchman’s Cry – Word’s from My Heart
Legalism in Today’s Body of Christ –
Christmas in the Crosshairs

—————————————————————————————

By Nathan Leal – December 27, 2013

———————————————————————————————————————————

Warning – this article is going to offend some, but it is also going to set others free.

Legalism is destroying the remnant church! I’m sorry that I have to say this but I believe that it is true.

Over the last few years, I have watched several theological trends gain traction in the lives of believers. One of the trends has to do with believers adding rules of the old law to their Christian walk.

There are many reasons that this is happening but in summary it has to do with a confusion of what holiness is over faith. The confusion goes even deeper where some are substituting an exterior of self-fortified walls based on law keeping and believe it to be an exhibition of inner sanctification.

These self-fortified walls are adorned with a devotion to amendments which harpoon Christianity and convert it into a religion of pious regulation and religious order.

Now folks, I am sure that what I’m about to say is going to offend some of those who are a part of this movement. But it must be stated because this trend is becoming a stranglehold for many people.

  • Inner sanctification will never be accomplished by outer works, or by the outer abstaining of things which are benign.
  • Inner sanctification will not be accomplished by the adorning of the outer garments of spirituality.

…nor will it be accomplished because a believer insists that one should use the name “Yeshua” instead of “Jesus.”

…or worship on “Saturday” instead of “Sunday.”

Nor will it be accomplished by whether or not a person celebrates…

… are you ready folks?

…whether or not a believer celebrates Christmas with their family.

Are You Still With Me?

I know that I just opened a can of worms but I felt the need to talk about this. Now ladies and gentlemen, please know that I have no ill will toward anyone but I really believe that I must visit this topic.

I know that it is dangerous ground and that some could argue against what I am going to say but please hear me out.

Folks, our faith has to do with our relationship with Jesus. It has to do with whether or not we have repented of the sins that were inside of us.

Our faith has to do with whether or not we have been born again into spiritual renewal. It has to do with our understanding of the power of the Blood of Jesus.

Our faith has to do with our devotion to worshiping Jesus every day of the week, to the born again believer, every day is the Sabbath. Why? Because Jesus IS the Sabbath!

The Sabbath is not a day in the week. The Sabbath is the immersion of us with Him, our Lord and Savior.

The Sabbath in the days of old was a SHADOW of what is available to us now in the present. The Lord’s Day is every day. This is a great mystery and seems to have a segment of today’s believer’s confused.

Again, I know that these words are challenging but is it possible that there is truth in them?

The Annual Attack

I have noticed that every year around this time, I start seeing the bashing and attacks begin against those who celebrate Christmas with their families. I have witnessed that there are some who condemn those who are remembering and celebrating the birth of our Lord on this holiday.

Why is this?

“Well Nathan, it is because Christmas is a pagan holiday! I studied it. I can prove it, I watched the YouTube’s that showed me!.. It is very evil!”

My reply, … pagan to whom?…

And thus … It is as it is… in the eye of the beholder! In other words, I guess if someone is convinced that it is evil then that is their choice. We all have a conscience so let your’s guide you.

However, why is it that with this holiday, some of the enemies of Christmas become crusaders who enlist themselves in a campaign of condemnation to those with holiday cheer?

I have seen some of the arguments against Christmas. I have also seen that some of the anti-Christmas rhetoric generalize the holiday and likens those who acknowledge the day as participating in an abomination that has few equals.

To this I say, “Absurd!”

Folks, if you choose to not celebrate the holiday is it because of conscience or do you really believe that it is an unpardonable sin?

In my humble opinion, celebrating CHRISTmas is not equal to eating babies or stealing candy from crippled kids!

But based on the hatred that I see towards it on the internet, it would seem that having a nativity in one’s house is an evil of high proportions!

I am amazed that while I can see our Lord in the holiday, others only see the pollution of paganism. Perhaps I need better spectacles.

Or perhaps Jesus will show me my error and if this is in my future, I will mend my ways and seal the breach against Christmas.

I don’t know. If it is possible that I just need to come around, then why won’t the anti-Christmas people offer prayers for me, or encouraging words seasoned with love and grace to challenge me? Because this is not what I encounter during this time of year. Instead, I encounter passionate diatribes that inform me of my failure.

The accusations are colorful…

“You are a child of Babylon!”

“If you have Christmas with your family, you are a fraud!”

You are blind…!

Again folks, if I am blind about this matter, then why do some throw hatred towards me instead of grace? I have a theory of why the encounters are hate-filled. More in a moment…

But as I have processed this whole matter about the movement of legalism in today’s end time church I have to wonder at the logic that is used to isolate Christmas as being “pagan” but ignore the bigger reality.

Paganism is Everywhere!

My friends did you know that the names for the days of the weeks and months in our modern day calendar are named after pagan gods? And every time that any of us reference the name to schedule our lives we are participating in paganism?

Every time folks! When we see the work schedule, the appointment is with pagan names!

…When you tell anyone a date for anything…the names are pagan!

…When you schedule the gathering for worship…again…it happens on a pagan day!Did you know this?

So as I have watched the purists out there talk about the evils of Christmas, I have to wonder, and say to myself…but…but…don’t they know that they are acknowledging pagan days every day of the week.

Does this mean that every day of the week an abomination?

Is saying, “I worship on Saturday,”  really saying, “I worship on Saturn’s Day?”Because that’s what Saturday means and Saturn was a pagan diety.

Uh Oh, Now What?

Here’s another conundrum, how many times has an anti-Christmas advocate sent out a birthday card with a time and a date…

“Little Joey’s Birthday is this Thursday, January XX.”

Translation – “Little Joey’s Birthday is this Thor’s Day in the month of Janus..XX.”

Janus was the pagan god with two faces. So does this mean that little Joey’s Mommy is committing an abomination because she’s celebrating a party with Thor and Janus? Is Joey’s mommy pagan?

Folks, can you see how absurd that this is?

Again, how many of the anti-Christmas well meaning purists continue to schedule their lives and use the names on the calendar? I suspect it is all of them!

Here’s another disclosure, some of the months on today’s Jewish calendar are named after Babylonian false gods!

Tammuz was a Babylonian God, he was theson of Baal

So what is one supposed to do with this quandary?

Some may rebut that this does not mean we have to join Babylon. And this is true, we are not to be immersed in Babylon. But there is a distinction between living while in Babylon and worshiping the ways of Babylon.

Aside from our Christian walk there are cultural traits, mannerisms and celebrations that do not add or take away from the Christian faith.

1. A salute in the military.
2. A birthday party for the kids.
3. The celebration of country’s national independence. i.e – the Fourth of July.
4. Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc.

And this brings me back is my original point, how can anyone escape, when they hurl rocks at others about Christmas, when they themselves use the calendar to schedule their lives?

Folks, please think about this!

And thus, for me, Christmas is NOT about Santa, or elves or a tree,

…or pagan worship!

What Christmas is To Me

Christmas is about the celebration of the birth of our Lord.

“But Nathan, celebrating the birth of Jesus is not sanctioned in the Bible!”

That’s true…and neither is a regular birthday celebration, but we still do that.

“So how can you justify it Nathan?”

How about Colossians 3:17?

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

In our house, Christmas is a celebration of thanksgiving in the name of our Lord. I do not think that it gets any simpler than that.

In our house Christmas is also about family.

My friends, one of the most precious things that we have in this life is our families and our loved ones. For a mother and father to have a fruitful bounty of children and teach them about the birth of Christ is not evil!

For a family to engage in worship songs which are about the beautiful, magnificent and holy birth of Christ is not evil!

I have seen the accusations in social media, emails, forums and websites which condemn the tradition of Christmas and equate it with witchcraft and satanic paganism!

But ladies and gentlemen, to call the worship of our Lord, “paganism” is to navigate into an area of self-righteousness and dangerous judgment against the brethren.

Are you still with me? Or are you already writing the hate mail?

Folks, we are living in very perilous times right now. The coming future is not going to be easy for the Christian who desires to be a part of the remnant. But what is the remnant? The answer could also a long sermon, but in summary, the remnant is made up of people who keep the commandments of God.

Jesus summed up the commandments into the concise instructions of loving the Lord thy God with all our strength, soul and mind…in others words, everything in us, and to also love our neighbors as our self.

Loving your neighbor means that you have to love them even if they celebrate Christmas.

Loving your neighbor does not mean that during Christmas time, the stoning should begin!

For those who believe that celebrating Christmas places a believer’s salvation in jeopardy, I have to wonder why the outcry against it must be done with such venom?

Why the hate?

My friends, our faith is not determined by the outer garment. Our faith is determined by whether or not we allowed our heart to be torn and broken in repentance when we faced our sinful stains at the cross; iImmoral stains that have to do with what we read in the scriptures.

1 Corinthians 6:9,10

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Brethren, I do not see the celebration of Christmas in this list.

By the way, if one desires to abstain from this holiday, God bless them. I will not condemn or judge. But why is the “grace” not returned?

Again, I am not sharing this article to create a firestorm, although there’s a chance it might. I am sharing this because right now all of us need to be examining the inside of our own hearts, not the hearts of others who do or do not celebrate Christmas.

For those who desire to throw stones during Christmas time, it makes me wonder what the motives are? Because throwing stones does not show love…

…instead it reveals bitterness!

Folks, I have received the emails! I’ve read them..

..they are mean and nasty!

Most of the hateful ones are from Hebraic Roots and Messianic belief systems. Which lends to the speculation that there are many in this movement that are full of anger and bitterness!

Why is this? I have a theory but I will hold on to it until a later time.

If you happen to be against Christmas and you are reading this, I have nothing against you as far as your desire to abstain. It is your choice and I will not condemn you or throw rocks at you.

But why is it that many of those who are anti-Christmas cannot return the favor?

Why is it that many in this group must condemn through words that are laced with anger and a spirit of “old fashion meanness!”

You know folks, based on this trend, I have to wonder if in the end times, some of those that will betray the brethren unto death will be in these ranks?

Ouch!

Again, if you happen to be in this group but do not have the anger that I describe, I apologize, but why is that many of your colleagues seem to have so much anger?

My friends, the anger of one’s heart is the tale of the tape! Anger reveals that there are unresolved issues within. And it makes me wonder, does this show that there is a connection?

Is the disdain towards this holiday a sign that there is un-forgiveness towards family members…or ex family members?

Again Nathan…Ouch!

I know folks, but someone has to say it!

…And since I have one foot in the grave, it might as well be me!

We Tried It!

Several years ago, my wife and I decided that we were going to become anti-Christmas. So we got rid of all things Christmas in our house. And for several years, Christmas came and went.

The one thing that I noticed during those years was that I did not feel any different inside. I did not feel holier, or more joyful or more peaceful.

I did notice, however, that I felt sad and empty.

I also noticed that my flesh felt pious and self-righteous, almost like I was better than everybody else because they were being pagan and I was not.

After a few years of this, I noticed something else. I noticed that I had robbed my children of having holiday memories with their mother and father.

I was also guaranteeing that I would never again get to sing the beautiful carols about the birth of our Lord with my family.

…Those beautiful carols, there are many of them that bring a tear to the eye, and feed my soul with a rush of wholesome joy. For who can listen to the song, “O Holy Night” and not be moved?

Who can listen to the powerful words of “Oh Little Town of Bethlehem,” or “Away in a Manger” and not be blessed?

When I banned Christmas from my life several years ago, I was left empty.

There’s another thing about Christmas; it’s the chance to make good memories with your family and your children. It’s the chance to imprint a setting where your children gather together and talk about the birth of our Lord.

I recently announced that I have in autoimmune disease that may someday – “do me in.” With this in mind, I want to make as many memories as I can with my wife and my children. Making beautiful holiday memories is not pagan nor is it evil.

Sitting at a Christmas table and eating a turkey with my family is not pagan, it is a gift! Making beautiful memories is what we are all supposed to be doing right now.

So this is why I have decided to celebrate Christmas. I do not do it to make the world angry. I do not do it to give some ammunition and rocks to be thrown at me.

I do not do it to anger my Hebraic Roots and Messianic brethren out there.

I do it simply for one reason, because I love Jesus and I love my family.

For those of you who may be wrestling with this whole Christmas thing, please know that celebrating it or not celebrating it will not change the condition of your heart.

And making beautiful memories with your family is a privilege that will not always be available.

So my friends make the best of it, whether it is Christmas, Hanukkah or something else.

our first response
Brother Nathan – We have read your message on ‘Legalism’ and it troubles us in our Spirit greatly. Not because you might have caused some offense but because you have missed the point of Scripture and ‘pigeon-holed’ a lot of people with many of your statements. We support some of the comments you made and adamantly disagree with other statements based on the Word of the Living God. We cannot address all of this article at this time – it will take a day or two to pray and respond properly under the leadership of His Spirit. Allow it to suffice for now that we do pray for you – for healing, strength, provision – and all the watchmen – a group of which we are a part – and do not condemn folks for not walking according to the Word.
But there is much you have missed and misapplied in your article concerning ‘legalism’. By the way, do you understand the true definition of ‘legalism’ or ‘legalist’ ? It is one who walks and conducts themselves according to the recognized standard of conduct for the group to which they belong. As ‘Believers’ what is our recognized standard ? The Word – the full counsel of God . . .
not our denominational interpretation thereof. We are in our 60’s with many years in ministry with a strong baptist background and God has corrected us in many of these areas. Paganism and idolatry are not the same thing but both are abhorrent to our Father.
We love you brother and will share much more in the days to come.   Remeber, Hebrews 4:9 states that even in light of all that Jesus has done, there still remains a ‘Sabbath-keeping’ for God’s people. Study in the words . . . for they do mean something . . .
Blessings to you and yours – Jerry & Rhonda

Brother Nathan – This installment will be the beginning of a loving response to your article ‘Christmas in the Crosshairs’ . . . You are very honest and candid in your article. Please understand that we will attempt to use the same candor and honesty in our response and any comments that may seem offensive are not intended for that purpose, but rather an effort to be lovingly honest as we share what we have come to understand as the Truth of the Word.
. . . perhaps Jesus will show me my error and if this is in my future, I will mend my ways and seal the breach against Christmas. I don’t know. If it is possible that I just need to come around, then why won’t the anti-Christmas people offer prayers for me, or encouraging words seasoned with love and grace to challenge me?”

As I stated earlier, we and many others we know in this ‘messianic/hebrew roots/restoration movement in these last days that listen to any of your teachings do pray for you as well as other of the ‘watchmen’. We pray for your healing, for provision, as well as for wisdom and insight. We would hope to encourage and challenge by our words and any changing in your direction or convictions has to be a work of the Holy Spirit.
We are called to be light and salt in the place where we are. Light to those in darkness and salt – that which preserves and seals and protects although it does burn a little.
One of the first things we will ask is concerning your statement – ‘Sabbath is not a day’ . . .  Sabbath has always been a day. It is a picture of rest to come in the kingdom but the biblical Sabbath has never changed. It, along with the relationship between and husband and wife, is one of the two pillars and principles on which God has hung His entire gospel plan. The 7th day and marriage relationship were both established in the beginning and has never changed . . . and will never change, according to the Word. Jesus reiterated the Sabbath and it’s proper keeping in both His practices and teachings . . . and He is our example. If you want to truly understand prophecy you must understand the Feasts of the Lord and to truly understand the Feasts you must understand the biblical Sabbath. ( Gen. 2:2-3, Leviticus 23:1-4, )

Isaiah 56:1 Thus says the LORD, “Preserve justice, and do righteousness, For My salvation ( Yeshua – Jesus )  is about to come And My righteousness to be revealed.
2 “How blessed is the man who does this, And the son of man who takes hold of it; Who keeps from profaning the sabbath, And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
3 Let not the foreigner who has joined himself to the LORD say, “The LORD will surely separate me from His people.” Neither let the eunuch say, “Behold, I am a dry tree.”
4 For thus says the LORD, “To the eunuchs who keep My sabbaths, And choose what pleases Me, And hold fast My covenant,
5 To them I will give in My house and within My walls a memorial, And a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name which will not be cut off.
 6 “Also the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, To minister to Him, and to love the name of the LORD, To be His servants, every one who keeps from profaning the sabbath, And holds fast My covenant;
7 Even those I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.

” Exodus 31:13 “But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘You shall surely observe My sabbaths; for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you.

( Eph.2:11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called ” uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (that done in the body by the hands of men)–
12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.
19 Therefore, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household . . .)

(The following is during the Millienal reign of Christ . . .)   Ezekiel 46:1 ‘Thus says the Lord God, “The gate of the inner court facing east shall be shut the six working days; but it shall be opened on the sabbath day, and opened on the day of the new moon.

( this is referencing the days leading into the ‘birth pangs’ )  Matthew 24:20  Jesus sand –
“But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath:”
If the sabbath is not a day and of importance, then why did HE make this statement ?
if it is not a day or a specific day, is that not confusion ?

Matthew 5:18 Truly I tell you ( Jesus speaking ), heaven and earth will pass away, but not the slightest stroke of a pen will pass from the Law until all has been accomplished.

Matthew 5:19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of the commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

The Sabbath is a portion of the commandments ( the 4th commandment ) that we are mandated to obey . . . willful submission to the ways of a loving Father . . .

To say that  ‘the Sabbath is not a day’ is to ignore much of Scripture and much of what we are called to, both now and in the Kingdom to come as a set-apart people because of the Blood of Messiah . . .
Salvation by grace through faith . . . Christ, and Him crucified . . . then obedience . . . but  to the Word from a saved people is our choice . . . we can choose to be obedient children or disobedient children . . . the choice is ours . . . but there are consequences to our choices.
In the next segment of our response we will talk about ‘faith’ and ‘works’ . . .
We love you in the Lord and pray for you and your family in these days.
shalom – J & R               end of our first response

Nathan’s response and P.S. to us
Have a Happy New Year.

I am not interested in being taught Hebraic Roots.

God Bless,  Nathan
Jerry I want to add that do appreciate your labor and efforts…. and also you shared with a good attitude of grace, for that I am appreciative but I am not desiring of this information. I have seen it already from many other sources. At this point, I cannot seeing that I will change my mind.
So please brother save yourself the time. I am a limited with mine.
God Bless     end of Nathan’s response and P.S. to us

our reply to Nathan

Shalom brother – I guess the first thing that comes to mind is the fact that nowhere in our response to you was ‘teaching you hebrew roots’ mentioned. The ‘information’ we shared is not just info and is not ‘hebrew roots’ but Scripture straight out of the book and in context.

You implied if someone would challenge you ‘in love’ you would be interested in looking and listening. Based on your reply, that appears not to be the case. We all, no matter our position or calling, must maintain a teachable spirit.
You have made it clear you are not interested in hearing anything else from us and we will honor your request. We are, however, compelled to continue our response to your article and post it on our website, blog and talk group in hopes that some of the damage done to those sitting on the fence looking for Truth and direction can be repaired. You have potentially done much damage.
The spirit of Jezebel, spoken of by Jesus to the church in Revelation, led people away from the Truth of the Word in to other traditions and practices and eating food sacrificed to idols . . . idolatry . . . christmas is not the ‘unpardonable sin’, idolatry is, according to John.
Bless your heart, you have done the very thing that you accuse others of. We somehow implied ‘hebrew roots’ and you immediately cut us off. We have followed your site for many years. This is not the first time you have done this to folks. And yet we know that you keep christmas and we continue to listen and weigh what you have to say and also pray for you and your family. What’s wrong with us ? Should we not follow your example ? You are doing the same thing to others that you accuse them of and you don’t see it.
We will not bother you further or take up anymore of your time, as you requested.
If you wish to follow our continuing response to your article, you can do so at our website or blog. We will continue as we hopefully started . . . with loving candor, honesty and compassion. It is not our job to convict or change some one. To quote an acqaintance, “that’s above our pay grade . . .” We will attempt to continue to sow Seed ( the Word ) do a little watering and every once in awhile be part of the harvest.
We will continue to pray for you and yours and all those in service of our Lord that we are connected with. We hope for the same in return.

Again . . .Blessings to you and yours – J & R      end of our reply . . .

From the ‘Inside Out’ . . .

FROM THE INSIDE OUT . . .

As we approach this season dubbed the ‘birth of Jesus ( Yeshua ) ’ we want to take a few moments to look at Luke 1 and other passages from a little different perspective and as a segue into an understanding of a deeper truth.  Allow us to establish up front that these and other writings of the Apostles are not in an effort to set a birthdate or birth celebration of the Messiah, but rather to establish the unavoidable fact that He is the promised Messiah spoken of by the Prophets, the ‘Seed of the Woman’  of Gen. 3:15, the ‘Son of Man’ with ‘all dominion’ of Daniel 7:13-14.

Have you ever been reading your Bible and then, all of sudden, BAM !!, you see something in the passage or a connection to another passage that you’ve never seen before ? Well, that’s what happened back in 2011. There is much more to this, but here is an overview and the ‘reader’s digest condensed version’ . There is more to come.

The Scriptures address the concept of that which is good coming from the ‘inside out’ rather than from the ‘outside in’.

“. . . For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks . . .”

                                                                                                    Matt 12:34;

“ . . . From his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. . .”

                                                                                                                John 7:38

“ . . . unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”                                                                                                        John 3:3-ff

When the Tabernacle was erected, the process began from the inside out. The first thing that was put into place was the heart of the Tabernacle – the ‘Tent of Meeting’ – and it’s heart is the Most Holy Place – the place of The Ark of the Covenant and Mercy Seat – the earthly throne of God Almighty. Afterward the rest of the Mishkan ( the Tabernacle – the place of the Shekinah ) was put into place from the inside outward. ( Exo. 40 )

There is also another concept we see in the Word – the requirement of the shedding of blood to seal a covenant. It was customary for the parents of the bride to obtain and keep the ‘wedding night bedding’ in case the virginity of the bride was ever called into question. The shedding of blood was recognized as validation of the consummation of even this most holy and intimate of covenants. ( Deut.22:13-19)

Even EVE came from the ‘inside out’ of Adam back in the beginning. So What does all this have in common with the account of the birthing of Messiah in Luke’s writings ?

As I was reading the passage in Luke about the then upcoming birth of Yeshua ( Jesus ), I was suddenly struck with an understanding of this passage that we had not seen or understand before.  She, Mary, asks the Angel Gabriel how all this could come about – birthing a child – since she was a virgin and had never had intimate relations with any man. He begins to explain to her that this event would come about by a work of the Spirit of God from the ‘inside’ rather than from the ‘outside’ by the will of man  . . . John makes reference to this concept in his Gospel rendering.

Without being to graphic, we understand that when a man and a virgin woman come together intimately, there is the ‘shedding of blood’ in the ‘ tearing of the veil of her flesh ( the hymen ) ’ . The ‘seed’ is from the ‘outside in’ by the ‘will of man’ and the covenant between the bride and bridegroom is sealed by the shedding of that blood.

Not the case with Mary and the conception of Yeshua . . . ‘for The Holy Spirit will come upon you and EL ELYON shall envelope you and this offspring shall be Holy . . .’ ( Luke 1:30-35 )  ‘ . . . and The Word became flesh and dwelt among us . . . the only begotten of the Father full of glory and grace’ . . . ( John 1:14 ff )  The ‘seed’ was planted from the ‘inside out’ by Abba. So where is the ‘blood’ that seals the covenant ? It was shed at Yeshua’s birth. When the ‘veil’ of His mother’s flesh was torn from the ‘inside out’ at His birth, it was the consummation of the promise that Abba made in the garden and it was sealed by the blood shed at the birthing. By the way, at any birth there is both blood and water present. Keep that in mind . . .

Hopefully we understand that when a man and woman ‘come together’ in an intimate relationship they have literally become ‘one flesh’. Also, if that intimate encounter culminates in pregnancy, the two have literally become ‘one flesh’ in the body, birth and life of the child. The child is ‘one flesh’, made up of the two, 100% mother, 100% Father, yet unique, one of a kind.

So it is with Yeshua. At His birth, he was 100% flesh ( His mother ) and 100% Spirit ( His Father ), unique and ‘one of a kind’.  At His death – the ‘tearing of His flesh’  – not only was His bride ‘birthed’ ( blood & water – John 19:34) but it culminated in the birthing of ‘many children’.  “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name . . .” John 1:12

So let’s look at a bigger picture. Adam was put into a deep sleep and while he slept his side was opened up and out of that wound was ‘birthed’ his bride . . . from the inside out . . .  When Yeshua (the second Adam) went to the cross, His side was opened up and out of that wound HIS bride was birthed . . . from the inside out with water and blood. . . . the tearing of the veil, which is HIS flesh . . . ( Heb 10:20 ) .

A ‘veil of flesh’ was torn at HIS birth and at HIS death . . . the first tearing was the consummation of the promise (in Gen. 3) The second tearing not only birthed the bride of the Second Adam ( Yeshua )  but also consummated that relationship.  And THEN the veil of the temple was rent by Abba to display for the Bride that access to HIM had been secured through the blood of HIS Son.  The ‘veil was torn coming in and torn again going out . . . all of this, ‘from the inside out’ .

So when we read the writings of the Apostles, let us remember part of their purpose. The point of the writers was not to establish a birth date or a birth celebration. Rather their writings would and should establish to all the prophesied lineage of the One born, the prophesied type of birth, and establish the fact that Messiah has come.  HIS birth fulfills the promise and the prophecies and reminds us that anything our Father GOD does is always from the ‘Inside Out’ .

In Matt. 5:17 Yeshua declares that He has come to fulfill . . . ( Heb. 10:7, Psa 40:7 ) Remember, nowhere are we commanded to celebrate His birth, but we ARE commanded to remember His death until He comes again and we know the month, day and hour of His death . . . not so with His birth.               ( 1 Cor. 11:24-26 )

“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.” Romans 5:10

“ . . . I was sent only for the lost sheep of the House of Israel . . .” Matt. 15:24

From where does your understanding come ?

We just concluded an evening of ‘online discussion’ and felt compelled to post this here. Online discussions are something we rarely get involved in, but a good friend was being misrepresented and we felt we needed to step in. ‘Tradition’ in and of itself is not a bad thing, until we begin to elevate it to or above the level of the Scriptures. That is when we cross a dangerous line. We are always concerned when we see Scripture being validated by tradition and commentary rather than the other way around, traditions being validated or dismissed based on the WORD. You want mystery ? You want depth ? You want hidden truth ? You want revelation ? You want understanding ? You do NOT need to go to the sages or the commentary writers, whether they be Judaic or ‘christian’. Just go to the Word under the tutelage of the Ruach and you will get more than you can imagine . . . here’s an example . . . Shalom – R & J

THE WOMAN AT THE WELL

The 1st week of April I received some insight from the Father, concerning John 4 and how it is inexplicably linked to 2 Kings 17. On Wed. April 11, 2012,  I was awakened from a dream/vision and given the directive to write this down and get it out. So this is my attempt to put down what I have received so far. I am sure this is ongoing and those reading this may have verses quickened to them also, concerning this. That is my prayer….that the Father will continue giving and we will continue receiving revelation on who we are. May He give us ears to hear and eyes to see, especially in these last of days.   If you aren’t familiar with or haven’t read 2 Kings 17: 24-41 in a while, this would be a good time to read it.     In Messiah, Rhonda

A Prophetic Look at the Woman at the Well

These are the things that Yeshua (Jesus) wanted us to see as we look at the entire account ofJohn 4: 4-43 concerning the Samaritan woman and her being brought into the Kingdom. The key words or phrases are:  Samaritan woman….Jacob……Joseph…..5 husbands……2 days……Jacobs well……He HAD to go through Samaria.
We will be looking at how these words and phrases relate to the gentiles/nations as they are brought in to the kingdom. We will be looking primarily at  John 4 ,  2 Kings 17 ,  and Hosea, along with a few others.
How does John 4 and 2 Kings 17 relate to the gentiles or nations being brought in ?
First, we have to go back to the blessings given to the grandsons of Jacob. In Romans 11:25 Paul states : “I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.There are only 2 places in Scripture this phrase is to be found ( something we learned from a teaching by Bill Cloud several years back ) .  When you take this phrase, ‘fullness of the Gentiles’, back to the Hebrew, it is found only one other place in Scripture and that is Gen. 48:19 when Jacob places his hand on Ephraim’s head and says (in Hebrew)  “melo ha-goyim”, which means ‘fullness or the filling up or fulfillment of the gentiles’.
Where in Scripture is there a type, picture, or shadow of this portrayed ?  In 2 Kings 17:24 we see the gentiles or nations being brought into the land or kingdom ( or ‘house’ if you will ). The previous verses in this chapter deal with the sins of Ephraim ( the northern Kingdom )  and why they were getting ready to be removed from the Lord’s presence (v.18) and the fact in verse 21 about the whole house of Israel being divided into two kingdoms. The two kingdoms were known as the Southern Kingdom ( also called Judah ) and the Northern Kingdom ( also known as Ephraim or Israel ). On occasion the whole combined house of Judah and Ephraim together would be called Israel. To read about the division of Israel into the Northern Kingdom and Southern Kingdom read 1 Kings11: 26-40 and 1 Kings 12: 21-24 where the Father states this division is His doing.
In verse 24 of 2 Kings 17 we see 5 nations being brought into Samaria which was the capital of the Northern Kingdom (Ephraim). This correlates with the 5 husbands of the Samaritan woman ( John 4:18).
The Samaritan woman in John 4 represents the Northern Kingdom or the Melo Ha-goyim.   [Side note: According to some historical sources concerning the overthrow of the Northern Kingdom, it was stated that  ‘ . . . the Assyrians took part of Ephraim out of the land to Assyria and left part in the land . . .’   They would bring people in from other nations they had conquered to replace the ones taken and to intermarry with those that were left in the land thus trying to destroy any remaining nationalism that may have remained].  This is also prophesied about in Hosea 7:8 ( Ephraim mixes with the nations)  8:8 ( Israel is swallowed up in the nations)  9: 17 (God has rejected them because they have not obeyed him, they will be wanderers among the nations) Hosea was the last prophet sent to the Northern Kingdom before she was cast from His presence (2 Kings 17:18).
So, as we can see through these verses that the type or shadow of the Melo Ha-goyim  (Romans 11:25 and Gen. 48:19) can be found in 2 Kings 17 and actually started with part of Ephraim being taken out to Assyria and mixing with the nations there and the part left in the land had the nations brought in and mixed with them. So we see the blessing that was pronounced over Jacob’s grandson, Ephraim, taking place (the fullness of the gentiles shall be found in or through you)…Melo Ha-goyim.
Paul states in Eph.2:11-19 concerning the gentiles coming in…..”Therefore, remember that formerly you who are gentiles by birth….remember at that time you were separate from Messiah, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of promise , without hope and without God in the world. But now in Messiah you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Messiah. Therefore, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household.
The Samaritan woman had 5 husbands and the one she had now was not her husband or in other words, she was not married to or committed to Him. According to verse 25 in John 4 she knew that Messiah was coming but did not know Him ( so was not committed or married yet, if you will). But in verse 26 Messiah reveals Himself to her –  the Samaritan woman ( the Northern Kingdom, Ephraim) and began the fulfillment of the promise made  in Hosea 1:10…..”In the place it was said to them (Northern Kingdom) you are not my people they will be called sons of the living God “.  This is why Yeshua said in John 4:4 that He  HAD to go through Samaria.
In John 4:40&43 Yeshua stayed with the Samaritan woman and the rest of the Samaritans for 2 days represented in Hosea as the adulterous wife and her children  Lo-Ruhamah (not loved or I will no longer show love to the house of Israel)  and Lo-Ammi (you are not my people). Also the 5 nations that came in to the land ( 2 kings 17) continued in their idolatry (spiritual adultery) as did Ephraim….2 Kings 17: 33-41
Yeshua came to the “Samaritan woman” at the well ( which at this point also included the gentiles or melo ha-goyim) to start the fulfillment of the reviving process He promised in Hosea 6:1&2…..”Come let us return to the LORD, He has torn us to pieces but He will heal us, He has injured us but He will bind up our wounds.  After 2 days He will revive us, on the third day He will restore us that we may live in His presence.”
After 2 days……” One day with the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day (2 Peter 3:8). In the 2nd chapter of Acts, Peter states that the last days had begun. He has been reviving us (Ephraim) the last 2 days (or 2000 yrs.) and we are getting ready to go into the 3rd day so that the rest of the verse might be fulfilled….”on the 3rd day He will restore us so that we may live in HIS presence.
John 11: 51-54….Caiaphas, who was high priest, spoke up, “You know nothing at all! You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish”. He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Yeshua would die for the nation, and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one”.
In James 1:1 he addresses his letter to “the twelve tribes scattered among the nations.”
 Here is the summation……
Samaritan woman represents….Northern Kingdom, Ephraim, ‘melo ha-goyim’ and all that it entails . . .
Samaritan people represent the woman’s children…..Lo-Ammi and Lo-Ruhamah
Jacob, Joseph, Jacobs well…. brings to mind the blessing given by Jacob to Joseph’s son, Ephraim…..”In you shall be the fullness of the gentiles….(melo ha-goyim)
The well was located in the Northern Kingdom (Ephraim).
5 husbands….. represents the 5 gentile nations brought in to mix with Ephraim (2Kings 17)
2 days …..represents the start of the prophecy given to Ephraim in Hosea 6:2
Yeshua HAD to go through Samaria……Yeshua himself had to be the one to deliver and fulfill what had been written and promised in Hosea 1 :10….”In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people, ‘ they will be called sons of the living God”. He went back to the place where it all took place.
This is a process that began then and continues until the restoral of the 3rd day …..

The prophet Ezekiel was told by YHVH to lay on his left sideto symbolically prophesy the judgment that was to come upon the Northern Kingdom [ The 10 Northern Tribes of the House of Israel; collectively, known as Ephraim].  He was to lay on his left side for 390 days, which would represent 390 years of judgment to be executed upon the House of Israel – Ephraim.  He was also instructed to lie on his right side for 40 days (1 day for each year) which would depict the judgement  prophesied upon the Southern Kingdom . . . the House of Judah.
Unlike the House of Judah,  Ephraim ( the 10 Tribes of the Northern Kingdom) did not repent and return to YHVH and to His Torah at the end of their judgment period.  Therefore, according to the principle laid out in Leviticus 26, their punishment [ exile and loss of identity… Hosea 8:8; Amos 9:9; Micah 5:8]was multiplied by 7 times. (Leviticus 26:18, 21, 24, 28).
  390 years x 7 = 2730 years
The captivity of the Northern Kingdom by the Assyrians culminated with the final conquest of Samaria in 722-721 B.C.  So when would the judgment (based upon Leviticus 26) upon the House of Israel/ Ephraim [ exile and loss of identity…Isaiah 10:21-22] be over?
 The Answer ?
2730 – 722 B.C. = 2008 A.D.
OR
2730 – 721 B.C. = 2009 A.D.

We are not setting dates . . .
We just find this interesting . . .

For YHVH promised the House of Israel/Ephraim the following:
“And I shall sow her for Myself in the earth, and I shall have compassion on her who had not obtained compassion.  And I shall say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people,’ while they say, ‘You are my GOD!’” (Hosea 2:23)

Meanwhile, Back at the Well . . .

Here’s an additional thought or two concerning ‘The Woman at the Well’. “Samaria” or Shomron  ( Hebrew) means ‘ watch mountain‘ and comes from the word ‘shamar’ which means to ‘keep, guard, to keep watch or to watch for’ . . . {By the way, this is the same word used by God in the garden when He told Adam to ‘keep’ ( shamar) the garden . . .}
The spiritual implication is the ‘samaritan woman’ ( john 4 ) was drinking water from the well of her father Jacob and was waiting – watching– for Messiah to come ( John 4:12,25)
Hosea 6:3 says  “ . . .let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge Him, and surely as the sun rises He will appear, He will come to us like the winter rains and the like the spring rains that water the earth. . . .”
Yeshua in John 4:6 sat down ( appeared ) at the 6th hour by Jacob’s Well to offer her the ‘living water’ she had been watching for ( John 4:10,12) . . .
I find it interesting that He reveals Himself to the samaritan woman (Northern kingdom) at the 6th hour, He was declared “king of the Jews” ( the southern kingdom ) by Pilate in the 6th hour ( John 19:14) and Peter’s vision in Acts chapter 10 concerning the coming in of the nations also took place in the 6th hour.
But I’m sure that’s all just a coincidence . . . :)
And, we have in Acts 15:14-21 another example of the type and shadow in 2 Kings 17:27-28 of the nations coming into the land or ‘kingdom’ and having the need to be instructed in the ways of the Lord.

More from the Woman at the Well . . .

Here is an addendum to “The Woman At the Well”……Blessings and Shalom to all, Rhonda and Jerry

THE OIL AND THE WINE and TWO DONKEYS

Revelation 6:6 and Hosea 2:14-23 are inexplicably linked . Rev. 6:6 commands… ‘not to harm the oil and the wine’.  Why ?…. it is a Promise in Hosea 2:21-22 that the Lord will give back the vineyards and  they will be restored.
Hosea 2:14-15 states that HE is going to ‘woo us and take us into the wilderness (desert ) and speak tenderly to us and there give us back our vineyards. And when does this happen ? In the time of ‘Jacob’s Trouble’ or what we call the ‘tribulation’, as stated in the remainder of verse 15 – “ . . . and will make the valley of Achor ( tribulation ) a door of hope . . . and she will sing as in the days of her youth, as in the days she came out of Egypt . . .” , a reference to the first Exodus.   This takes place during the tribulation – the time of Jacob’s trouble –  which is taking place towards the end of the ‘2nd day’ of Hosea 6:2.  At the ending of this ‘2nd day’ the Lord says “don’t harm the oil and the wine” . At the beginning of the 3rd day (millennial kingdom) “HE will raise us up” and HE will restore the grain, the oil and the wine (Hosea 2:21-23) and “we will live in HIS sight”.
Hosea 3:5 tell us the ‘Israelites’ ( the northern kingdom – Ephraim ) will come trembling to the LORD and to His blessings in the last days. Yeshua said “ I am sent only for the lost sheep of the House of Israel.”  Ephesians 2:11-13 clarifies that those who were formerly of the ‘nations’ have been brought near by the Blood of Messiah and are no longer foreigners and strangers but fellow citizens with God’s people. So whether we have the blood of one of the 12 Tribes running through our veins, or are simply ‘gentile’, we have been made part of the Household of God – The Whole House of Israel . . . ‘I am sent only for the  . . . House of Israel . . .’ and we are expected to keep HIS ways , just like the picture we see, and is laid down, in 2 Kings 17 . The five pagan nations listed here, coming into the Land or the ‘kingdom’ if you will, were expected to keep the Father’s commandments, even though they were  a ‘wild branch’ being put into or grafted into the ‘kingdom’ which was a shadow of what was to come ( Romans 11:17, Acts 15:13-21) .
Therefore, through and because of the ‘blood of Messiah’, those of the nations that believe are brought into the House of Israel ( Eph. 2: 11-13 ) and they ( we ) come in as part of the ‘re-gathering’ of Ephraim ( along with Judah – Ezekiel 37 )
What do we mean by ‘re-gathering’ ? Here’s a picture that we’ve not seen before. There are two donkeys in Matthew 21:1-5 and Zech 9:9. Yes, two donkeys ! (A side note here: this revelation was given to my husband (Jerry) several years back by the Ruach or Holy Spirit.)
On the day that tradition has come to call ‘palm sunday’, Yeshua ( Jesus ) comes riding into town with two donkeys – an older male and a younger male . . . the wording is quite clear in the Hebrew in Zechariah 9:9.  So, what’s that mean ?
Judah is the older brother and Ephraim ( the house of Joseph ) is the younger. We see the same symbolism in the account of the ‘prodigal son’. The ‘prodigal’ is the younger brother and Judah is the older.
So back to the two donkeys. I picture Yeshua riding the older one and leading the younger. That would line up with the Biblical tenet that Judah always goes first and leads  ( Numbers 2:9, Judges 20:18 ).
The Prophets Jeremiah ( chp. 2 ) & Hosea ( chp. 8 )  speak of the people of God as donkeys . . . and it is not a compliment. Deuteronomy 9:6 and Acts 7:51 ( and other passages ) tell us that Israel is a stiff-necked people. That includes me and you as well.
Exodus 13:13 and 34:20, seemingly out of context, speak of ‘redeeming donkeys’ in the same passage with ‘redeeming the first born of your sons . . . so what’s up with that ?
There is a play on words here that we miss without a closer look.
The word ‘ARAPH’ – to break or ‘slope’ the ‘NECK’ ( OREPH ) is a picture of our unwillingness to humble ourselves due to our basic sinful nature . . . pride.
Therefore we must be ‘redeemed by a LAMB’. And if there is no redemption, then we ultimately die.
But, when we willingly accept the work of Messiah on the cross ( the redemptive LAMB of our FATHER ) we willingly humble ourselves before HIM ( we ‘slope the neck’ and bow the head and heart ) and we need not fear the second death ( Rev 2:11, 20:6 ) .
So what do we have in this ‘triumphal entry into Jerusalem’, understanding that Yeshua does nothing without meaning ? We have a picture of the beginning of the fulfillment of the restoration of the Whole House of Israel with Messiah – the Passover Lamb, the Shelem, the peace offering making reconciliation – leading the way and bringing His people back home.
“ . . .For I am sent only for the lost sheep of the House of Israel . . .” Matthew 15:24

Standing with Israel

A PROPER BIBLICAL STANCE CONCERING ISRAEL

In a recent meeting with the leader of the PA, Mahmoud Abbas, Secretary of State John Kerry stated the official position of the United States of America – ‘the Israeli settlements in the west back are illegitimate’ . . . Those words should cause every Bible-believing born-again saint to catch their breath and run and hide ( in Messiah ) expecting the wrath of The Almighty to rain down any minute. It should cause them to rise up with righteous indignation and outrage against a governing administration that stands contrary to Father God in virtually everything it does. It should cause them to stand up, united, with one voice and shout ‘NO !!, that is NOT our position !!’

But, for the most part, that won’t happen.

Here’s a quick little bible lesson. In Genesis 12, GOD makes a promise to Abraham that is to be handed down through Isaac to Jacob and to all Israel ( that includes you – Gal. 3:29, Eph. 2:11-13 ) . The English version reads something like this – ‘And I will bless them that bless you and curse them that curse you’. The Hebrew version reads just a little different, and that ‘little difference’ makes ALL the difference in the world. It reads something like this – ‘ And I will bless them that bless you and I will bring a curse on them that slight you, trifle with you and esteem you of little or no account.’ hmmmm . . .

In Exodus 23 God Almighty says to Israel – ‘I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries . . .’

To stand against Israel’s God-given right and deed to ‘ The Land’ is to become their adversary, which places us as a nation on the wrong side of the line with GOD. To be ‘part and parcel’ to the ‘dividing of The Land’ is to no less than thumb our national nose in the Almighty’s Face . . . not smart . . .

So what do we do ? We take our stand, a Biblical stance. We pray for mercy and grace for the ‘ten righteous in town ( days of Lot ) . We, like Nehemiah, must stand for truth as laid out in the WORD and raise our voices to heaven to the Almighty and shout ‘Remember us LORD, for have done as you commanded and stood as you directed, for YOU and YOU ALONE are our covering !! ‘ Shalom –

IF . . . ?

IF . . .for only two letters, this word can carry a lot . . . and we know thinking out loud can get you into all kinds of trouble . . . but IF . . . what IF . . .

The accompanying article is from Arutz Sheva News out of Israel. Please read the article to get the entire jest of this report.

There has been a lot of talk concerning ‘tetrads’ – both past and future – and what they might mean, if anything.

Well, the following are just some ‘out-loud thoughts’ . . . please take them in that way . . . no date setting . . . no prognostications . . . no ‘it has to be this way’ . . . just ‘out-loud thoughts’ and questions . . . your thoughts would be welcome . . .

IF the blood moon cycles ( tetrads ) projected in 2014 and 2015 actually occur on the dates projected, and IF they fall on the holy days as projected, then they are extremely significant prophetically. In what way ? Not sure, but here are some thoughts . . .

IF, according to the article, the US is determined to force the PA/Israeli ‘peace plan’ by mid 2014, that could ( IF ) put the icing on the cake of the division of the land of Israel. The prophet Joel tells us part of the reason for the return of Messiah is to execute judgement on the nations for ‘dividing HIS land’ . . .

So, are we saying the blood moons are telling us Jesus is coming back next year or so ? NO, we are asking the question , ‘could that be the reason for these upcoming signs in the heavens’ ? Abba declares the ‘end out of the beginning’ and not ‘the event after it occurs’. I can do that.

The book of Matthew tells us there will be great tribulation and then there will be a ‘sign of the coming of the Son of Man’ and then we will see HIM coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Could the tetrads be a sign that points to HIS imminent  return ? By the way, look up the definition for ‘imminent’. You might be surprised.

So we are saying Messiah is coming in 2014 or 2015 ? NO.

We are asking ‘could this be a pointer’ to what is on the horizon.

Whether Messiah returns in 7 years or 17 years or 117 years (imminent – determined, not necessarily instantaneous), there will be a sign of HIS coming. We know HIS return is imminent, closer than must of us realize. So, am I supposed to be watching the sun, the moon and the stars and the heavens ? Scripture tells us that GOD put the lights in the skies to mark the times and seasons, and that’s NOT just speaking of spring and summer. Luke 21 does say ‘when you see all these things happening, look up, for your REDEMPTION draws nearer. Just some thoughts . . . Blessings –

1. US ‘Will Force’ Israel-PA Deal
by Gil Ronen US 'Will Force' Israel-PA Deal

The United States intends to try and force a peace agreement on Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), IDF Radio reported Monday.

The radio station says the US has informed Israel and the Palestinian Authority that if negotiations between them do not advance, Washington will propose its own solution, that will include a US position on every point that is in contention. In effect, according to the report, this will be an attempt to force the sides to agree on a solution formulated by the US.

MK Zehava Galon (Meretz) was quoted as saying Monday that senior US officials told her the US offer would be presented in January of 2014. PA sources also said cited January as the month in which the US intends to propose, or impose, its plan.

The US moves comes after three months of talks between the sides which have reportedly made very little headway.

The US plan reportedly is similar to the Clinton outline, offered by President Bill Clinton in late 2000, which is based on an Israeli retreat to 1949 Armistice lines, and some swaps of territory.

The Obama Administration is reportedly determined to achieve “a dimplomatic breakthrough” by mid-2014, and believes that Israel under Binyamin Netanyahu and the PA under Mahmoud Abbas are capable of reaching agreement.

Until now, the talks were based on the idea that the two sides negotiate directly, with the US only acting as a mediator.

The American decision to present a proposed agreement was reportedly communicated by several senior officials, including the Special Representative to the talks, Martin Indyk. Secretary of State John Kerry reportedly briefed Netanyahu on the matter when they last met, in Italy.

IDF Radio is run by the Israeli military and partially staffed by soldiers but is considered to be a mainstream news outlet that is not substantially different from mainstream civilian outlets.

Time to share . . .

The following dream came on the heels of a time in which we were teaching, with the blessing of the pastor, in a main-stream denominational setting, and suddenly the door to that teaching opportunity closed. I asked the LORD ‘why ?’. Why are they no longer receiving ? I kept asking of the LORD and this is the dream HE gave me in response to my continued asking. Although I received this dream from Abba almost 10 years ago, Jerry & I feel compelled that now is the time to make it public. Shalom – Rhonda

2004

I was breast-feeding a baby and all seemed well and suddenly the infant began to choke. I sat the baby up and began to pat it on the back. As I was doing this, I noticed something in the infant’s mouth. I reached in the baby’s mouth to dislodge the object and began pulling a string out from the baby’s mouth. As I pulled, I realized the baby had swallowed the crib mobile. The baby had swallowed the mobile !! I was totally shocked and aghast !! The baby swallowed the mobile !!

After pulling the mobile out the baby was not moving and was non responsive, just staring forward with big eyes resembling a ‘cabbage patch’ doll. I sat the baby down. There was nothing more I could do for the baby. The dream ended.

INTERPRETATION

The ‘breast-feeding of the baby’ represents the teaching of the true milk of the WORD and the receiving of that WORD by the people. The baby represents the people.

The choking represents the inability of the ‘baby’ to take in any more of the much needed ‘milk’.

The ‘mobile’ represents all those things taken in by the ‘baby’ that prevents it from having any more room for the ‘true milk’.

The purpose of a ‘ baby’s crib mobile’ is to entertain, occupy, keep busy and eventually lull to sleep. Each of the objects on the mobile represent something the baby ( the people ) have swallowed hook, line and sinker preventing them from receiving anymore of the much needed true milk of the WORD.

Time is short. Many challenges lie ahead. May ABBA extend mercy and grace to all HIS  ‘babes’  today and in the days to come. Shalom – R & J

Yom Kippur – The Price of a Life

The Price of a Life

Each year, as we approach Yom Kippur, I am reminded of Noah and his family and the account of the great upheaval . . . the judgment and the deliverance that were dispensed by Abba’s ‘two-edged sword’ . . . and the ‘bringing together’ of the ‘beginning and the end’ of the Gospel picture within the pattern of the Feasts of the LORD.

In the account of the great flood we see most clearly in the hebrew the inseparable partnership ofPassover and Yom Kippur . . . the reconciliation and the covering.

I know it is old news for some, but this always intrigues me when I think on this passage –Genesis 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood;rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.’

In the english it reads “ pitch it within and without with pitch” . . . The first use of the word ‘pitch’ is the hebrew word ‘kaphar’ ( kippur ) which means to cover or atone . . . the second time the word ‘pitch’ is used in the verse is the word ‘kopher’ which means ‘ransom’ or ‘the price of a life’ . . . the word translated ‘within’ is actually the word ‘bayt’ – ‘house’ .

So this passage can be translated –

‘ cover the house, and outside – the price of a life . . . ‘

( Exodus 12 tells us of the ‘covering of the house with the Blood of the Lamb, the door being shut, those inside are safe, but outside – the price of a life’ . . . )

The word for ‘rooms’ in Gen. 16:14 is the Hebrew word for ‘nests’ . . . sounds a little more personal and intimate than just ‘rooms’ , doesn’t it . . . but it is more than that. Birds have nests, don’t they ?

Hosea 11:10 They will walk after the LORD, He will roar like a lion; Indeed He will roar, And HIS children will come trembling from the west.

11 They will come trembling like birds from Egypt, like doves from Assyria. I will settle them in their homes,” declares the LORD.

Psalm 91:3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, ( fowler – the one who hunts the birds ) . . .

And what is ‘gopher wood’ ? . . . don’t know . . . but I do find this interesting . . . the word for ‘wood’ ( ets ) is the also the hebrew word for tree or stake . . . the word ‘gopher’ is spelled gimel peh resh ( or GPR ) . . . the word ‘ kaphar’ or ‘kippur’ is caf peh resh ( or KPR ) . . .

See any similarities in the words ? The hebrew letters gimel and kaf are extremely similar in their appearance. Hummm . . . I wonder ?

Is it ‘gopher wood’ or is it a picture of the  ‘wood that is involved in the covering’   because of what ultimately takes place on that tree ?

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: ( Deut 21:23 )

I find it interesting that since a ‘tree’ was involved in the original problem, it follows suit that a ‘tree’ would be involved in the cure . . .

Genesis 3:17 Then to Adam GOD said, “Because . . . you have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’; Cursed is the ground . . . “

2 Corinthians 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by His life.

In the Gospels, John the Immerser declares – “ behold the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world” ( john 1:29 ) . . . I believe that to be a ‘two-part’ statement.

Where does it say that a lamb takes away sin ? The goat was for Yom Kippur, not a lamb. The ‘lamb’ is the ‘shelem’ – the peace offering – that which reconciles two that are separated or at odds with one another. The two goats were the offerings for the Day of Atonement and the lamb is the reconciliation. Yeshua is both the two goats and the lamb . . .

And remember, GOD only covers ( kippur ) those that are His . . . and we become HIS by being reconciled back to Him by and through the blood of His Son.

Romans 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by is life.

Revelation 1:18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

As we approach Yom Kippur, is there anything in our lives that has separated us or ‘put us at odds’ with Abba or one another ? If ‘no’, you are a rare individual in a rare position. Most of us would have to answer ‘yes’ to that question.

Now would be a really good time to clear things up.

Do you want more of the Father and His Holy Spirit in your life and the life of your family ? Ask HIM what needs to change so there is more room for Him . . .

Sukkot is coming up. But you can’t get to Sukkot until you first pass Yom Kippur. Sukkot is the ‘family reunion of all times’. How do we get to be part of the family ? We enter at Passover. We come in through the Door. But once we’re in, the ‘sin’ has to go. We can’t come into the presence of Abba at the homecoming with sin. He cannot abide sin, and sinful flesh cannot stand in His presence. So we accept His Kippur – His covering – the blood and body of Yeshua.

Now we can enter His presence unafraid . . . for He sees us through the Blood of His Lamb . . . the One Who was born to die, and live again . . . for me and for you.

Chag Sameach – Blessings and Peace to you and yours . . .

Sukkot Event

One of the activities for this year’s Sukkot gathering will be a Nature Survival
session by Craig Caudell of the Nature Reliance School in Winchester, KY.
Craig will be with us at the Mercer County Fairgrounds tuesday Sept 24th for a three-hour hands-on course from noon until 3:00pm on basic survival skills and
the ‘rule of threes’.
Craig is a ‘believer’ so his teaching does not rely on our abilities only, if you get my drift.
Although we know that any day or time we pick will not be inconvenient for everyone, this was the only day and time that he would be available that week.
A free-will offering will be received that afternoon to help cover Craig’s expenses, travel and expertise.
For more info on Craig’s school, background and course availability you can access

Grandparent musings . . .

The other afternoon Rhonda and I were walking around the yard with the youngest of our six grandkids while two of the others played in the distance. As we guarded his steps, listening and trying to understand his words and making sure he didn’t falter while keeping an eye on the others, I suddenly realized that, if time permits and the LORD tarries, they will have opportunity to return the favor . . . so as the days grow more challenging, may we be driven closer together in Abba . . . Shalom U’Vrachot – Peace & Blessings –
