‘Do what’ ?
There was an intriguing story recounted to us by a good friend and former head of an international mission outreach organization. He recalled how missionaries had gone into China in years past and worked and sowed ‘seed’ and then were thrown out of the country. Decades later, when outreach workers were allowed back in country by the government, the workers were amazed and what they found. In the ‘underground church’, The Word was being preached with power, healings, deliverance, sight restored to the blind and raising of the dead. When the people were asked how they knew to do these things, their response was simple, yet profound . . .” we just read This Book you left behind and did what It said . . .”
At this time of year, there is always much discussion and conversation concerning Passover observances and practices. What ‘IF’ . . . What If we had no knowledge of ‘passover seder’ customs and practices; what if you had never attended a ‘traditional service’ or read a hagaddah; what if I desired to observe this mandate called ‘Passover’ ? How would I go about that observance? Perhaps our answer should be as the Chinese believers – “ . . .just read The (whole) Book and do what it says . . .”
First, let us bring to mind these three events – the First Passover (Exo 12:1-28), the memorial pattern given by Abba (Exo 12:43-51, Lev 23), and the mandate given by Messiah Yeshua to ‘do this in remembrance of Me’ (Luke 22:19-20, 1 Cor. 11:24-25), along with Scriptural guidelines concerning the observance. So now, with these three events in one hand, and Scriptural guidelines in the other hand (such as no leaven with the blood, or slaughtering the lamb in only the place where God put His Name, etc) what three elements are consistent within all three of these events? Based purely on a reading of The Word, what are we to do ‘in remembrance of Him’? . . .just something to ponder . . . Shalom – J&R

So, at times, when it seems you are up against more than you can handle and you are at ‘the end of your rope’, tie a knot in the end of it . . . just make sure there is The Rock tucked neatly in the end of your rope . . . For He has placed a Rock in Zion . . . A Rock that is the source of all we need, a Rock of refuge and rest. Shabbat Shalom
Leave the Jews alone ? . . .
“He (Yeshua) is the Stone . . . which became the very head of the corner. 12 And there is salvation in no other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved.” (Act 4:11-12)
To whom does the above statement apply?
“Yeshua said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.” (Joh 14:6)
Can one have an eternal relationship with our Father that is void of the Son?
To deny or refuse the Messianic office of Yeshua of Nazareth that came in the flesh is to refuse the renewal of The Covenant promised by Father God, ‘The Renewal’ consummated by the death and shed blood of Yeshua.
“Behold, the days are coming,” declares YHVH, “when I will renew the covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which THEY BROKE, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. ” (Jer 31:31-32)
” . . . This cup which is poured out for you is the (kainos – renewed) covenant in My blood.” (Luke 22:20)
” . . .and he said to them, ‘Having gone to all the world, proclaim the gospel to all creation; 16 he who hath believed, and hath been baptized, shall be saved; and he who hath not believed, shall be condemned.” (Mar 16:15-16)
“He who believes in Him (Yeshua) is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (Joh 3:18)
7 “So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. 8 If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.” (Eze 33:7-8)
But hey, as the Pope said, don’t evangelize Judah . . .

In addition, we are privileged to have with us this year, Dr. Alphonozo V. Monzo, III, M.Div., N.D. and his lovely wife. Dr. Monzo was featured in the recent documentary entitled – ‘The Way’. Dr. Monzo, a licensed Naturopathic Doctor as well as radio host (among other accomplishments) views the body as a whole and believes it should be considered in that manner for true health and wellness to be achieved. He also teaches a concept concerning the human body’s connection to the Hebrew language characters.

So whadaya got against the Jews?
The greek word for ‘GOSPEL’ is Strong’s #2098 (euaggelion) and comes from the same as #2097 (euaggelizo), from where the words ‘evangelist’ and ‘evangelize’ originate. So, an ‘evangelist’ is one who ‘evangelizes’ which is defined as ‘bringing the Good News’ – The Gospel. The Hebrew word for ‘GOSPEL’ is Strong’s #1320 (basar – bayt, sheen, raysh), root of which (interestingly enough) is the word for ‘FLESH’ #3019, having the same Hebrew spelling. By the way, the spelling of that three-letter root is a sermon and ‘Torah Code’ all it’s own.
So, based on the Hebrew, what is ‘The Gospel’? The Promised Messiah has come and taken on ‘Flesh’ to ultimately atone for fleshly man’s sins of the flesh. And if we remember, Hebrew root words are usually verbs – action words – then the Gospel, in an Hebraic sense, is, by definition, something we ‘do’ and ‘publish’ and not just that which we are and that which we exhibit.
What’s The Word say about this? Let’s take a look . . .
‘And Yeshua said to them “Go into all the world and preach The Gospel to ALL creation” . . .’ Mark 16:15
“ . . . The Lord has anointed (Me) to preach The Gospel . . .” Isaiah 61:1 ( a sign of the Messiah)
‘Jesus preached The Gospel in the synagogues . . . Luke 20:1
So why do we need ‘The Gospel’ ?
“For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.” Romans 3:23
“For ALL we, like sheep, have gone astray . . .” Isaiah 53:6
“ . . . for I (YHWH) will renew the covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, the covenant which they broke . . .” Jeremiah 31:31-32
It sounds as if ALL have sinned (transgression of the Torah – 1 John 5:3) and ALL are in need of a Saviour and we are to publish this Gospel to ALL creation. And yet we are told ‘not to evangelize the jews’. So if ALL have sinned ( and we ALL have) and ALL need a personal Lord and Saviour (and we do) and we are commanded by Messiah to publish this Gospel to ALL ( and we have been commanded), so why should the jewish people be segregated from this saving Good News? For in Messiah, there is no difference between Jew and greek, male and female, etc. If Father God is NOT a respecter of persons, why should the jewish people be denied the hearing of the cure for this disease of sin? (Romans 10:14-15). Strange . . . The Word declares ‘all should hear’ and yet we are to told not to publish this Truth to the jews? And we get accused of being ‘anti-semitic . . . strange, indeed . . . Shalom
