World Vision . . . blinded by the World . . . or the inevitable coming to roost ?

25 Mar

The link below takes you to an article on ‘One News Now’ concerning a longstanding charitable organization, World Vision. They have been feeding children physically and spiritually around the world for decades. Some years back they pulled back on their evangelism push and became eligible for federal funding. Now they are making what they describe as a ‘very narrow policy change’ . .  to accept same sex couples as bona fide married couples and also as employees. Before we proffer our opinion on this issue, we want to hear your thoughts. Keep one thing in mind. These issues and crossroads are coming soon to your church or congregation and community. Decide now where you will stand when the time comes.

Everyone will need to decide where they stand on this issue if they haven’t already. Unfortunately, those who stand with God’s word as homosexuality as sin will be set up to be called haters. It is critical that true believers who make that stand do so in love, separating the sin and the person. Jesus died for every sinner, including you and me. He did it for love. Love the person, call sin, sin.

Sin is sin regardless of societal norms. We have to take a stand and reject the sin fully and completely, but have compassion and love for the sinner. Equivocation is a copout to side step dealing with the issue head on, which basically says, “I was against it before I allowed it”. This is nothing less but the gospel of political correctness. But isn’t that where we are at as a country and a growing trend toward a “lukewarm” church? What a difference between World Vision and Hobby Lobby! Hopefully Hobby Lobby will stay the course and World Vision will get the right “vision”.

Amen . . . we need to pray for the sinner and actively stand against the sin . . . it is hard to stand, but that is what we have been called to do . . .

One last thing concerning this. Maybe World Vision believes if they cater to the government on this, that they will be able to continue their charity to the poor, destitute, and needy. But if they reject the government mandates, they might possibly face being shutdown. There are a number of questions that could be asked here. Is World Vision doing this solely for the charitable factor, or is this considered to be a charity and a business? If it is solely a charity, and the motivation is to serve Messiah out of love for people, you cannot compromise the Words of Messiah, for the purpose of fulfilling the Will of Messiah. This would be a hard place to be in, but at that point you would have to leave it in the hands of Yah and do the right thing according to His Word. If those who operate World Vision are benefiting from this, and they are making this move to ensure the longevity of the charity/business with mixed feelings of care for the needy while ensuring their future personal profits, their decision at that point becomes to a large extent self-serving. There is no way to endorse there actions if this is the case.

None of this is said to condemn anyone. We don’t know these things. It is just hard to see how one can break the foundational Word of Yah for the purpose of serving Him!!!!! If we walk according His Word, He will make a way where there seems to be no way!
