PRODIGAL MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL

Presents
TABERNACLE IN THE BACKWOODS 2017
Projected Dates October 4th-12th 2017
Location – KY Christian Assembly Camp
22 acres of beautiful Kentucky Fall countryside
Brodhead, Rockcastle County, Kentucky 40409

This is a private, limited access summer camp nestled in the backwoods of Rockcastle County Kentucky, just outside Brodhead, 15 minutes from Renfro Valley. There are tent sites, limited camper spots, as well as barrack-style accommodations. These are the ‘Barracks-style’ bunkhouse buildings that are used by the kids for summer camp . . . they are not individual cabins. THESE BUILDINGS ARE SEGREGATED, ‘MALE’ AND FEMALE’, so, please keep that in mind as you make your plans. We will ‘tweak’ these barracks for those unable to stay in their tent or camper and, as well as for our ‘seasoned citizens’ and those with special needs. We will also use the barracks for those that are staying for just one night or so and cannot or do not desire to setup a tent or camper. Please plan on using your tent or camper if at all possible, but the barracks are available. And there are bathroom/shower facilities with multiple shower stalls, sinks and toilets within the barracks buildings. PLEASE be sure and bring all sleeping bags, linens, towels, etc that you might need. Now, moving on . . . 🙂

The cost for the use of this facility is $10.00 per day per family group, or $72.00 for the entire 8-day event. WE WILL HAVE GUEST SPEAKERS DURING THE WEEK AND WILL RECEIVE A FREE-WILL OFFERING AT EACH EVENING SESSION TO PROVIDE FOR AND BE A BLESSING TO THESE SPEAKERS. PLEASE COME PREPARED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS AS BEST YOU CAN.

We always set a large table in the main common area for drinks, snacks, breakfast cereals, coffee, etc and ask all to participate in providing those things. As in years past, everyone takes breakfast and lunch at their leisure. For our daily evening common meals, we have access to a nice ‘lunch-room style’ serving and prep area within the main eating/meeting hall. We also have access to outdoor sheltered meeting areas, campfire sites, walking/hiking trails, basketball, volleyball, prayer garden and much more.
We will have a ‘set menu’ for the common evening meals and we will be posting that menu for these evening common meals no later than Sept 12th to allow sufficient time to plan.
Although we are in a secluded location, there are grocery stores and variety stores within 10-15 drive. Propane is available at some of these locations. Heaven forbid, but in the event of an emergency, there is a Regional Medical Center approximately 15 minutes from the camp, as well as folks on site with First Aid training. There is also a laundrymat in the town as well.

There will be an informal Bible study/discussion each morning before the noon meal time and time for break-out sessions in the afternoon. Each evening, after the evening common meal, there will be a corporate time in which all encouraged to participate, a time of worship and praise, ministry, prayer (as The Spirit leads) as well as a time of teaching/discussion.

Our good friend Craig Caudill of Nature Reliance School will be with us monday Oct. 9th for two teaching sessions. In the morning from 10’ish until lunch, Craig will be speaking on a topic of his choice (yet to be determined) and will be leading an introductory class in Krav Maga in the afternoon from 1:30-4:30.

Friday afternoon, Oct 6th, from 3:00 – ?, we will be showing those interested how to salt cure beef for long term storage WITHOUT refrigeration. We will provide all the needed items EXCEPT the cow ( ) . You will need a lean piece of beef roast (2-3 lbs) which you can bring with you or purchase locally.

Sunday afternoon, Oct 8th, also in the afternoon, Rhonda will show you how to prepare dairy butter for long-term, non-refrigerated storage through a canning process. You will need a pint jar with a new canning lid and band and a pound of butter. These items also can be purchased locally and we can talk about it in days prior to the class so that everyone understands what to buy and why.

There will be discussion/study classes each morning for those interested from 10:30’ish – noon.

This year we are excited that there will many young folk attending and there will be activities for kids of all ages, Some of our attendees are leaders involved in the Camp Maschiach Summer Camp event each year and they will be bringing materials and life-lesson activities for the younger generation that we know they will enjoy.

As always, there will be a camp-wide worship, praise, prayer and teaching session each evening at 7;00 pm. We look forward to hearing speakers from various places and groups as they share what Abba has shared with them. More importanty, we look forward to the presence of The Holy Spirit during this week.

MUSIC plays an important part in our fellowship, worship, praise and ministry. If you play an instrument and can bring it- bring it.

We also will have SUKKOT TEE SHIRTS available to both commemorate the event and to use as witnessing tools when we return to our respective fields of service.
If you are interested in a shirt or shirts, the printer has informed me it would be ideal if we could have your order before Monday Sept 18th to ensure they arrive on time.
